Fire Valley Volcano
The name of Fire Island's massive volcanic structure, Fire Valley is a geothermal generator core that acts as a massive power source for most of the citystates, espically the ones nearby. It uses the volcanic heat, the lava flows, and so forth to act as a power source. This is a renuable energy source.
Fire island is pretty much a tropical island otherwise, a thick jungle, and the craggy mountainface leading up into the mouth of the volcano. Smoke occasionally belches forth, but aside from lava current movements, the volcano hasn't erupted since before the Great War, which is to say, roughly a hundred years.
The island essentually has a city surrounding the volcano, as well. Hot springs, even several gysers.
Fire Island is the second largest island on the planet, next to Shade Island.
Despite the lava, the volcano itself is cool enough to enter the outer areas, but equipment is needed to enter the inner areas, exempting Pyromancers and other flame based Magetypes.

Aurasight could be considered a "sixth sense" to most. To most, it's a sort of "second sight", seeing the glowing fields behind and over a person of varying color, depending on who they are, how they are, their innate power, and soforth. Even how they're feeling, and certian powers they're currently using (like shielding, lack thereof, etc)
To others, it acts on other senses, piggybacking. Certian folks can "hear" Auras, where others can "feel" them with their skin, even "Smelling" an aura is possible, which makes for varying descriptions. It's unknown if a "taste" type exists, as smell and taste are so interlinked...
Isis is one of those who can "See" the Auras, it piggybacks as a second sight to her. When she isn't using her glasses, she usually switches to Aurasight out of habit, as it's a concious effort to do so, to be able to tell people and such apart. This is a fairly accurate system, though certian individuals are hard to look directly at, and give headaches.
Clair, as an example, is a very chaotic, dark individual, with a Light deep within. This makes her Aura primarily dark, but chaotic in nature, occasionally giving glimpses of light within in the chaos. It varies how much chaos is there on an individual basis.
Eiko, as another example and a rather intresting one, is seemingly a chaotic aura of light, dark, and all sorts of color, and generally sometimes seems to have two, depending on how far 'apart' Eiko's mental threading is. It's not exactly mindreading, as Isis can't tell what's on Eiko's mind through this method, it's closer to an empathic feeling.
More powerful individuals tend to belay the rule of concious effort on Isis's part. The King In Yellow and powerful minions are commonly surrounded by a faint yellow glow through Isis's eyes, a concious effort on her part brightens this considerably, and they still remain "Dark" due to their innate natues.
Some, as yet another example, is a somewhat calm Dark aured individual. A larger, though misshapen Aura crammed into a shape that which it doesn't belong.
Potterverse Wizards, as an intresting note, tend to be silvery-aura'd. Greyish muted colors, this isn't to say that they're weak, it's how Isis's brand of Sight labels them.
Mutants can be varied, depending on their powerset. Magneto, as an example would be more Dark (note the capital D) purple-pink-blue, where Kurt is a dark yellow, but Light.
I tend to decide it on a case-by-case basis whenever I write it, or the subject comes up. The ones listed above? Are ones I've sat down and thought about.

Geomancy, to Isis, was one of the more baser magics that could exist. Simplistic in the way it was done, but could get very complicated.
Her geomancy skills, alas, are very very blunt. She lacks the fine tuning the Geomancers tend to have, as hers tends to be surrounding it with power, grabbing, and yanking with all of her might.
This, obviously, tends to result in more brute force, but a surgical strike with such a power is very unlikely for Isis to be able to do without a specific spell, or a lot of practice that she doesn't always do.
Sand acts more like a liquid, a driving force that can be moved with a wave of power, rocks and heavier earth are generally slammed about with pure driving force behind them. Isis also lacks the skill to grab specific forces of earth, or avoid them, as such, she'll generally get a powerful force of everything at once, but it's generally it she's capable of.
Powering it with Light or Dark can change it just a bit, Light is faster, weaker pillers, whereas Dark is the large, very powerful slabs summoned up from the depths of the earth. Isis also cannot sense what exactly is below her earthwise, and due to this, her abilities with Geomancy is even further limited.
Still. If she wanted a pure, unhindered, very rocky slam? Earth was definately the way to go for that.

Isis stood across from the circular arena from the red-haired mage across the way.
Both walked across, meeting in the middle, giving a slight bow before the ref listed off the rules.
"Firstly, the first to disarm their opponent is the winner. Secondly, if either one of you is knocked down and remains so for more than ten seconds, you lose the match. If you're knocked out of the ring, you lose the match. This is a non-magic allowed competition, so you can't use spells here, and doin' so, you'll be disqualified." He put his hands on his hips. "You two get me?" Both Isis and the other mage nodded. "Good. Now. Take your stances."
Isis took two steps back, twirling her staff before assuming a stance with the crystal foward, left hand low, right hand high, staff diagonal.
Red took a more defensive pose, staff held horizontally in reference to the ground.
The ref moved back, and out of the way. "Alright you two, no cheap shots either, now GO!" He swung his arm down, and there was also the bright flash, indicating the start of the match.
Isis led off, striking first with a heavy foward swing. Staves clanged together loudly as Red blocked, and parried back. Causing Isis to have to stumble and recover. She took several steps back, trying to put some distance between herself and the other mage. Both circled one another.
Red took a swing. He managed to hit Isis in the hand. She yelped, shaking her hand and jumping back just a second too late to evade. She took her staff in both hands again, and took another swing at him, sharp and low, trying to trip him.
He blocked low, seeing the move coming. Both staves clanged again loudly. Isis snatched hers back as quick as she could, taking another swing. He blocked, but was dazed back by the force of it, unable to parry that time.
Isis then attempted to power through his block. Alas, being the shorter, and smaller of the two, this wasn't entirely effective, and gave him the chance to aim for her gut, hitting her with the weighted end of his staff.
She coughed, stumbling back. And had to defend against a blow from him. Isis yelped again, she hated defending staff-to-staff, it was harder for her to do.
Staves clanged together again. He was attempting to power through her block now. Isis took this oppertunity, pulling back suddenly while he was off balance, instead of trying to force back. She took another sweep with the staff.
That time was successful. Red made a suprised noise and down he went.
He dropped his staff as he went down. The weapon clattered to the floor as he fell onto his back.
And the ref threw his hands into the air. "Round one goes to Isis Macrow!"
...She'd probably admit that was more luck than it appeared to be.
