Forward

A good philosophy in life is to "keep moving forward" - not going back and not being contented with maintaining one's current place or position.

However, life doesn't happen in a controlled environment. There are other, sometimes extraneous, variables to consider - time, situation, other people, and the list goes on.

As such, sometimes we also need to think first before rushing ahead. While forward indeed is the way to go, sometimes going around an obstacle is more practical than barging against it head-on - regardless of our chances. Some other times, it might even be better to take a step backwards. "Retreat to fight another day" as some would put it.

"One step backward to be able to take two steps forward in the future." Upfront, it seems a cowardly thing to do; but it actually takes more courage to accept what one cannot conquer an obstacle. To decide to risk the opportunity by choosing to regroup first and develop one's strengths as well as improve one's weaknesses is sometimes harder to do.

After all, how can we keep moving forward if we will only get stuck along the way?
