It’s been a while. I know. But my life is rather uneventful these days; most days. However, today I was inspired. Actually last week I was inspired. Around the time I left campus, but I’ve been avoiding the internet as much as possible [except for wii internet browser that shiz be 1337]. Preparation for next year, as it controlled so much of it this year.
My last day was filled with gloomy despair and joyous delight.
The ride with my father (Ralph) was exceptionally good. Surprisingly no music was played. Although the radio was at one point turned on, but then quickly shut off, as my father was; for once; interested in my college life. Having just met Heather (Melissa as he called her…horrible with names), he was intrigued, I guess.
Lunch at Perkins (as the dreaded thought of McDonalds cross my fathers stomach. Ick) was excellent. And I am really glad we could sit down and enjoy a meal. I’ve grown to far from my father in recent years. He actually liked Perkins. Which is odd. My father usually, when he has a meal from a place he does not like, will never step foot in it again. Apparently he and my brother (also named Ralph) had lunch one time, dad hated it. Halfway home we visited Ester, for those who don’t know…
Step Mother
Name: Ester
Nickname: Moms (I didn’t understand the concept of two mothers)
Looks: Like Martha Stewart
Mannerisms: Bitchy, most likely.
She was happy to see me, gave me a nice stuffed humpty dumpty for a birthday gift. Even though it was mine from childhood. Dad got me home safely and I called James (J.J.) it was neat. He’s home from Afghanistan and we totally hung out from Thursday till Saturday morning, as he left with a hangover.
Thursday evening he showed up, we decided to take in dinner and a show. Go see Hot Fuzz, avoid Olive Garden. The next day, my birthday was more eventful. James took me out to the bar [first time] and paid for my tab. Downtown Rochester is a bad place for bars, but we went to Main Street… don’t go there, only older people (whom James wanted a sexual encounter with) and make-up whores. I felt out of place, but it was enjoyable seeing JJ in my clothes, he turned himself on. Ha. I drunk called people to join the in foray but only one answered…well, returned my call. Heather, not my Heather [if I can even call her ‘my’ Heather or ‘my’ anything for that matter. I don’t own people….in any case] Heather Bara. She called told me to meet her at a bar in Utica, I called my mom. She picked us up and I gave her a matchbook as a gift.
The second bar was more our crowd, twenty-somethings with nothing better to do on a Friday night then get drunk in the local Irish Bar. Oh, how I love green! She was happy to see me, as I her. I suppose. I knocked a guys drink over [had to buy him one], stupid asshole put it right behind my elbow… obviously I’m gonna knock it over. And sure nuff he did the same shit after I bought him a new one. But I was in no way intoxicated enough to knock it over a second time… I moved that little shits beer over [from behind my elbow] three more times. At one point James and I got bored, we were both drunk and it appeared as if Miss Heather had ditched us (she was our ride home). I called mom to pick us up. Just as we were about to leave, Heather popped up and invited us to a party. Okay. This was a dick thing to do… but I called my mom who was only five minutes away and she allowed us to go to the party.
It was lame.
First I totally ditched Heather’s ride at the gas station, she was playing the Avril girlfriend song over and over. Hearing it once is hard enough. But on repeat-fuck that. Today I found out we could hate that song for even more reasons; apparently she recorded it in eight other languages. Jesu!
Back to the party, it was one of those ones you see in high school. The kind with community college kids, who still live at home; and luck out because their parents are gone for the weekend. JJ and I hit that scene for about three minutes and decided to walk home…roughly three miles, that way [you can’t see I’m pointing].
It was raining, that was fun.
We actually ran about a mile flat; and neither of us got tired. I did pause and ended up with a cramp. We would walk the next quarter mile to 7 Eleven. I got a melting moments sandwich and called my mom. She picked us up; we called it a night.
Next day, JJ goes. I get sad. Couldn’t think of a better person to spend my birthday with.
After a few days of phone tag Jim and I finally made it up to Qdoba, which still is the greatest food place on the planet. He gave me a wonderful Gift Card for Qdoba (AWESOME!!). We ate, caught up. We plan on doing it again sometime soon… but I have almost used up the card. Ha! Too much love for Qdoba. In fact I should call him; set-up another day for fooding.
I miss ‘my’ Heather. I haven’t seen her since the day I left; and let me tell you, if that wasn’t an awkward goodbye then I don’t know what is. On the Brightside she loves her new job and we talk almost everyday, its nice. Still… I miss her. But hopefully this weekend I will drive out to see her. have fun n’ stuff.
In the mean time… I pass the time with my shiny polar white DS courteous of Nintendo. Playing the hell out of pokemon: pearl. Currently, not that anyone cares, I have:
Monferno (Ampersand): Level 17, Fire/Fight.
Kadabra (Kenzie): Level 17, Psychic.
Luxio: Level 16, Electric
Machop (Flexy): Level 15, Fight.
Magicarp: Level 11, Water. [This punk is useless. All he does is flop around. And splash water. I have to get him to level 20 so he can evolve into Gyarados. It’s a pain trust me.]
Um… wow this is a long entry. Sorry.
Okay, where was I. oh, right Pokemon. Yeah, besides that I’ve been watching Buffy and working. This summer is beginning to go by slowly. I suppose that means I can get a lot done.
I bought Elephant at the flea market. It won Palm d’Or (golden palm). Heather said it was good. Actually watching that is what made me want to write this. well one of the things. Honestly, the movie was okay. The visuals are gorgeous, the mise-en-scène is awesome, the characters not so much. I don’t see how it won Palm d’Or, maybe it was a slow year.
Lastly, the reason I wanted to write. Last year I was working and I found a Nintendo DS game, Super Mario 64. I took it, after all the kid left it on the floor for me to vacuum. In any case I recall selling it at the flea market. Well I didn’t. What a pleasant surprise to find it today among some old games.
And with that I’m out.
Have a dandy day… I know I will; I don’t work today.
