I'm taking these 15 minutes before midnight to type up a quick entry, since I've been silent for longer than I've intended to be. Granted, I've been actually handwriting some journal entries lately, but that's a new development -- who knows how long it will last. Plus, no one would care to read those anyway since they tend to ramble.
So, I finally have my treadmill! Yarrr. Jeff was kind enough to help us transport it in his big bad truck and help maneuver it into the apartment. I can't wait for the day when Jim and I have some sort of SUV that can actually carry crap.
I hadn't planned on using it today, since I was feeling pretty sluggish and blah-y all day, but I decided that I might as well burn a few calories while I did some reading for class and just walk on an incline as I read. It was actually a pretty damn good work out. Walking is one thing, but walking on an incline is definitely another. Plus I got some studying done. Definitely a win-win.
After that, had a small bowl of Crispy Rice (Winn Dixie's cheaper form of Rice Krispies) watched The Pick Up Artist, Man Band and Dr. 90210. And here I am.
Labor Day weekend was simple and relaxing. This semester is an interesting one... Currently I feel like I'm experiencing the calm before the storm. I feel like I have a lot of free time and am at ease, but it's kinda like I know that by the end of October I'm gonna be swamped. But hopefully it will all be fun.
4 minutes left...
So, talked with one of the Career Resource Center directors for the Engineering College about my Web site project for my new job. At first I was a little worried and hesitant about the meeting, but when I got there, Tom (my meet-er) was all prepared for me, had notes, handouts for me and we talked for about an hour about the project, expectations, his recommendations, concerns, etc. He said after meeting me he felt comfortable about the project and that it was going to turn out great. I guess he gave me the confidence I was looking for.
Plus, I walked out of them with a bigger vision of just how important my role is now. I'm still kind of amazed that they entrusted me with this so quickly on the first day of the job, but I guess I have some good connections who keep praising me. So I just hope I live up to expectations.
Ok... I've gone 5 minutes over now, mainly because I've been messing with my music list instead of writing. So, I'll call it a night. Back to reading...
