Death Rain and Fun With Race Cars

Did I tell you about the fun I had last Thursday? My car can seriously burn rubber and the last owner loved to do that. He really wore down the rear tires. I knew I needed new tires but I figured it could wait until September. It could apparently wait until last Wednesday. During Thursday's life ending rains I was having serious traction problems. On my way down the freeway screaming along at about 40 I spun out and flew off the road. I was thinking, "Aw crap. I didn't want to bend this car. This is going to cost a fortune." Then I crashed down into the ditch. NO ONE stopped to see if I was alive. Cowards probably didn't want to come out into the monsoon and they probably couldn't see me in the tall grass anyway. I noticed the car was still running and there were no warning lights on the dash. As hard as I hit I figured something had to be mangled, but the hood looked okay so I figured I'd try to get the car out and go home. It was a pain in the ass to get the car to climb out of the ditch, but we made it. I lost control again on the way home, but I kept her on the road. After I got home I checked around the car and the only damage was a reflector had popped off and grass and dirt were everywhere. I snapped it back on and pulled some of the grass out of the wheels. I called Belle Tire to get me some new tires. He ordered me up some new ones and I wasn't planning to go to work in the rain again without them. It was sunny Friday so I went to work and the new tires got in that afternoon. A set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires cost $1,360. If I hadn't gone in the ditch I might have told the guy to fuck himself. I don't plan on going 170 so I probably don't need racing tires, but why push my luck any more. I did notice the new tires ride far smoother than the Toyo racing tires that were on there before. The Extreme rides almost as smooth as the Action Hearse used to with those new tires on there and they only cost three times as much as the tires on the Hearse did. Wooo.
