I like to know what to expect when I open a comic book. If I don't know the artist, I'll track down something else he's done and dabble my toes in his esthetic for a while. Like I wanted to know how "Authority: Prime" is going to look so I read "The Boys." This is a doubly good thing because now I know what to expect visually from Prime, and I also know that I never want to read The Boys ever again.
So when DC announced that Jon Landry would be doing the art for Midnighter #13 & 14, (i.e. the last two parts of the current story arc) I started hunting. Landry is quite the rookie, with little history beyond a Deviant Art page. One of his only listed comic book credits was a few issues of "City of Heroes" for Image. "Wow" I said (for I talk to myself frequently). "Now that's hard to find." What kind of sad, sick uber-geek would collect a comic produced as a tie-in to an
superhero MMO?
I am that sad sick uber-geek.
So, for those of you not wasting your time playing video games, here are some scans from City of Heroes #19 so you'll know what to expect in November. A bit cartoony and I'm not sure how that's going to translate to a guy like Mids. Wait and see.

page 6 Tank, Scrapper, Blaster, Controller and two Defenders. What can go wrong?
Ambush. yep, that'll do it.
LOL Trick Arrow Defender. We're dead.
That's right States, sent the meat shield and the hand-to-hand specialist to punch an inanimate portal while the squishies are surrounded by heavily armored aliens with six-foot swords. Noob.
Synapse is thinking "we're toast." He's right.
Meanwhile, Statesman heroically punches the glowie thing. Dude, it would be down by now if you let a DPS specialist like the Blaster do that while you protect him from the killer aliens instead of the other way around. I'm seriously never teaming with you doofuses again.
Oh noes! Arch Villian! Hospital and regroup at the door.
