I'm not liking the Angie/Harry reveal at all, I must admit. I'll wait and see what happens, but the way it's done sets her up as a fall-guy for Harry's machinations, and I want my Angie to be more than just a ramification of somebody else's villainy arc.
Actually, I thought about it and realsied that I'd be equally turned off if it'd been Jack she kissed there. Something I very much liked about the Authority when Ellis first introduced them was that none of the women characters were shown with 'who they hooked up with' being remotely relevant. They were team members first, personalities second, and their love life just wasn't in the story beyond some cute backchat flirtation between Angie and Jack. It was so damn refreshing for the 'women characters = sex and soap opera' equation to just not be there at all. Making Angie kiss Harry at this point is just using her to make people go 'OMG Harry, what will happen when she finds out?!" In the first couple of issues, the ones that set the tone, I would rather see Angie walking on the

After further thought, I'm betting the Angie/Harry is to make it a more personal loss if/when Harry is killed off, which I think is pretty likely. [Slight future spoiler: The preview text for Stormwatch #5 has Midnighter fighting Harry.] That's still not a great justification, though. Not only are there other ways to make Harry's possible death matter, but like you say, I'd much rather see the focus on Angie be how awesome she is in her own right.
I am LOVING the cover for Stormwatch #5 and hoping Midnighter stomps him as much as it looks like he's stomping him, while the others sit around eating popcorn XD. I hadn't realised how much I'd been missing my fix of Midnighter ownage until I saw that!
The other thing I'm missing here, which again I've just remembered from Ellis' run, is the way Ellis passed the Bechdel Test before it even existed, by having Jenny and Angie talking as friends, without rivalry and not about their feelings for men, in the first damn issue. So far Angie has snarked about how she should be in charge and the Projectionist has hinted that she and Angie don't get on. Again, how novel would it be (even now) if they were BFFs instead of rivals?
