Also, they said that we'll be losing team members in...issue 6, I think? I already know who my preferences/guesses are. :P

Heh, sure. :)

I'm sort of hoping/expecting Adam One will go, based on his current role (hopefully paving the way for Angie to lead the team (or Jack, I suppose)), and since they said more than one *probably* the woman with the media powers... purely because they don't seem massively invested in her at this point.

I would be really surprised if they got rid of one of the pre-existing team... oh, I suppose Jenny's mentor could be on the chopping block too.

Hopefully killing off some of these characters means we may get Shen/one of the Doctor's back. @.@

Oh God yeah - Shen and Jeroen/Habib, where are you?!

(Actually I suspect DC's thinking is: (1) why do they need Shen when they have Hawkgirl, and (2) the Doctor can't be in the DCU until they can figure out a way for him not to pwn too many of their legacy heroes. Hmph.)

Yeah, with the Doctor I figured he'd need to be seriously power nuced, but then again so would/has Jenny, so less of an issue.

Jereon is... probably not hugely viable without watering him down thoroughly (what with the horse porn and all), no such reason for Habib though! Not to mention he would fit in nicely with their pro-diversity stance... especially since removing Shen makes it distinctly less so than it was.

Oh yeah, and they need Shen as well as Hawkgirl because Shen is awesome (also, is Hawkgirl even in anything right now? Haven't even glanced at Hawkman)

Adam and the Projectionist are my top guesses, too. Almost seems a shame to introduce two newly-created characters only to get rid of them, but I'm obviously more attached to the longtime Authority members. Out of the established characters, I think Jack's the most likely since he hasn't really done much. (Noo! Not Jack!)

The four characters I think are safest are Apollo, Midnighter, Jenny Q, and the Martian Manhunter.

(Also, Jeroen and horse porn? What run was that in?)

Yeah, I mean I think Adam One is a massive pain in the arse, but not in the way that he's badly written or a bad character, you know?

I'm not really worried about any of the established characters as at all, though I see what you mean about Jack. Either him or Engineer (which would suck greatly, but I don't think it's going to happen).

The horse porn was mentioned quite a few times! I could find specific examples, but it was kind of a running joke. There was never a story ark specifically about it or anything. XD

Huh. I don't remember it at all! Another excuse to re-read all my trades. XD

Never a bad excuse to re-read! :D

And the only one I could remember an specific issue for was in the Kev arcs, so you may need to veer of the main line a bit. :)

I kinda like Adam character-wise and I also like his concept, being the century-babies mentor and all. I only just think he(or all of them) could be better written, maybe it's just me but there were some odd mood changes in the last issue. Angie seems a bit off to me as well, a little overambitious maybe. I think all of her 'taking over the whole damn show' feels a little forced and rushed to me ( ... )

I agree that Cornell's dialogue, especially in the first issue, was very exposition-heavy. I think there were also a bit too many characters and too many events going on, resulting in (for me, at least) something of a jumbled issue.

I'm glad Cornell is putting his own stamp on the series instead of trying to imitate Ellis/Millar/Brubaker/etc., but part of me really wishes he and Sepulveda had gone back to Ellis and Hitch's widescreen decompressed style, which is almost by definition more showing than telling.

As for the Martian Manhunter, I really doubt he's going anywhere; as the only established DC character, I get the impression that he's being used as a hook to get people who normally wouldn't pick up a Wildstorm-centric book interested.

I think either Jeroen (for the drugs, porn, etc.) or Habib (for the fact that he was originally a suicide bomber) would have to be toned down and partly depowered in order to fit in with the DCU, but I really miss having a Doctor!
