New update yay!

So, it’s been a while since I posted but I have been legitimately busy. Anyway, let’s go over what’s been new in my life over the past couple of months. Break went well and I ended up spending Christmas with my father and brother. It’s the first Christmas I spent with them since 2003 so it’s been a little while. My brother got bunches of toys and 5 or 6 Xbox games. I also did a fun little social experiment with him and asked him why we celebrate Christmas. I thought it was kind of funny that he didn’t know (although I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised since he’s being raised in a fairly secular home, they’ve never been to church). It’s kind of odd, I mean I never really went to church or anything as a child but I do recall being taught the whole idea of Christmas from my mom and also somewhat at school (during Christmas pageants the teachers would sometimes explain the songs that we were singing).

Anyway, Christmas was fun, and my little brother never left my side. It’s nice having a little brother who absolutely adores you. Also while I was there I was able to go up to New Castle and play with one of the flight simulators for business jet pilots. It was a great time, and it’s always good to know that you can actually land an airplane, especially on your first try after not flying anything for over a year. Anyway, I thought I would include some photos.

Here is the type of aircraft I was flying:

This is taking off from LaGuardia airport in NY.

This is a view approaching the George Washington bridge (my father is lining up to fly under it)

Almost under it…

Flying under the Brooklyn Bridge

Lining up for an approach

Keeping it steady…

A view of the glass cockpit and steering column for the left seat

A view of the glass cockpit center column

And finally, my father banking out of Manhattan after flying under the Brooklyn Bridge (he didn’t much care about the building in front of him because the computer doesn’t actually register them as solid objects so it doesn’t trigger a crash. He just wanted to go fly somewhere else)

Even just using a simulator makes me sometimes question the field I’m going into and ask myself why I’m not trying to be a pilot. Meh, oh well, it was a fun evening and a good vacation

I’ll be back
