yeah, i know it's my 3rd post of the day.

i just need to vent.

so. i thrive on politics. i just cannot seem to get enough. so much so that I often stream C-SPAN online while I am at work. newspapers, blogs, tv news, whatever, i just need to be aware of what's going on in the world. maybe it stems from my deep rooted fear of missing out on something. i suppose i am jsut an information consumer because besides my thrist for politics i do have an affinity for celebrity gossip.

but right now it makes me think how contrived politics is. how you are always catering to someone. usually your voting bloc and financers. i know that, but it still makes me kinda sick.

the US Senate is WASTING 3 days "debating" a constitutional ban on gay marriage. much like the immigration debate, this is stickly to rally the social conservatives for midterm elections. sure it worked in 2004- I mean having a refernedum on 10 swing states sure does help give you an edge in close states.

besides the fact that Republicans do not have enough votes both in the Senate and the House to pass this just bringing it up works for them. or at least that is what they think.

i dont have time to get into the moral debate about this. how amending the US Constitution to discriminate against fellow humans is just disgusting. how the US Consitution is a living document and the forefathers intended it to bend with society. how this ban goes against traditional republican/conservative beliefs...such as limited role of the federal government. but as we've seen in the last 6 years anything goes when you are Bush & Co. Let's bloat the government, invade sovereign nation, scare the hell out of everyone, and basically do whatever the fuck we want.

We needed a change in 2004. But now more than ever we need a change. I can only hope that the Democrats take back the House and/or Senate because at least we can slow down the policies of distruction.

and then 2008. we need a HUGE change. As much as I admire Hillary Clinton I hope to god she doesn't run. Not because she'll probably get her ass kicked but because we need a change.

Let's examin the past 20 years....

88-92 - Bush I
92-00- Clinton
00-08- Bush II aka Fucktard

do we really want more of a Clinton? Fuck moderation man, it doesn't do anything. we need some progressives to occupy the White House and Captial Hill. I'm not talking free love, baby killers, i'm talking about people that work towards equality for all, that provide government services that actually help people improve the quality of thier lives,

i realize it sounds soooo idealistic but this country is reaching its tipping point. we used to be a such a progressive country, even in times of conservative leadership. it was about new ideas and perspective and diplomacy. and now, i honestly have no idea what we stand for?

i love this country. i love it so much it breaks my heart to see it fall to shambles. this country is full of potential and it kills me that we are plunder it....

i dont know what we need to do but fuck, something needs to change....

ok, i really must do work now
