"He is all about this stem-cell research."

Stem cell research is NOT murder (not sure if you meant that but wanted to clarify anyways...). Stem cells are found in many parts of your body, for example, blood and placentas (the sac a baby grows in inside of the mother). What is controversial is the use of human embyros for the collection of stem cells, usually post-abortion or from in-vitro fertilizations. Just wanted to inform you so that you don't rally against stem cell research altogether-- stem cells can be donated by postpartum mothers, blood doners, etc. in the name of research and treatments. For example, my "aunt" has non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She donated her own blood which was then cleaned for stem cells. She was then given her own stem cells back as a treatment against her cancer. She's expected to be pronounced cured soon. Also, diabetics have opted to donate their own stem cells to be used in attempts to find a cure to Type I diabetes. Who knows how many diseases we will be able to cure with the use of stem cells!! Amazing medical possibilities lie ahead (FYI-- George W. Bush supports this type of use of stem cells... he simply banned the use of human embryos for harvesting of stem cells.)

What we should be rallying for is other means of stem cell collection, for instance, mandating that every postpartum mother be asked if she would like to donate the placenta for stem cells... think of how many babies are born each day and how many stem cells would be collected from those placentas that are normally thrown away.

Just an FYI....

Appreciate the information, Jenny.

I was referring to the abortion issue as "murder" not Stem Cell Research.

I referred to Stem Cell as the "scientific" part that Amanda noted.

Hope all is well.

I thought that was what you meant, but just wanted to be sure. I figured it's good information to pass along anyways.
