Looks like Griffins' efforts to re-establish a working record log have been successful. He'll be pleased.

Any luck sourcing that plant life the scans picked up on?

He will. We need a working log, the ones on the ship are no good to us anymore anyway.

Yes.

We need to think about more permanent living arrangements. The escape pods won't do us much good for any longer. The climate's starting to change; almost rainy season. If there is such a season here. Haven't been able to get any of the environmental scanners up.

I think that history is better left behind.

Good, do you think it will be sufficient to sustain our numbers?

From what I recall from the news reports and the mission briefings Tanis is as close a match to Earth as any other planet and many countries on Earth experience changes in seasons. I think it's safe to assume that the same can be said of Tanis.

I'll look into the living arrangements.

You don't think that people need to know about what happened onboard?

I don't know. We need to make sure that there are alternate food sources too. So far I've been unsuccessful in trying to find any kind of indigenous life-forms that would be suitable for food.

One would assume so. If that's the case, we need to start looking at protection from more extreme weather.

Thank you, Bower. Those that are left have kind of split off into small groups. And they are looking to you for leadership.

Not at this moment in time. What these people need now is stability and all it'll do is scare them.

I think scouting parties might be the way forward, small groups to begin with.

Yes, we should. Wouldn't want to lose anybody else.

God only knows why. I was never built for command, it's why I went into engineering.

What if they get off the ship? We managed, it's entirely possible that they could too.

Possibly, but we just have to be careful, the indigenous life could be more dangerous than the reports sent back. There was only really a show of insect life. Which, by the way, if you can catch any, as long as I give you the all clear, you could probably eat them.

Good source of protein.

No, we can't afford to lose anyone else. The gene pool is compromised enough as it is.

You are the only one that can remember anything of before, really. I certainly can't and I have been awake longer than you.

We'll deal with it when and if it comes to it. Give them some time to adjust then call a meeting.

I remember that, chowed down on one back on the ship. Tasted kinda like... peanut butter.

I'm not sure why that is. Not sure why my memories have come back so quickly.

Call a meeting? I suppose that's the best way to tell everyone. We need to keep the rotations going, though, keep people on watch. Just in case.

They're a good source of protein. I'm sure many of the insects of this world would be be similar.

I don't know. But whatever the reason, you remembered first. For that, I'm glad at least.

Agreed. Better safe than sorry as my father used to say.

I'll be sure to inform the scouting parties of that.

You and me both. Would have lost the ship if I hadn't remembered the reactor sequence.

Makes sense. Can you remember a lot about before then? Are your memories still coming back?

Alright. There are a lot of civillians here. We are going to have to teach some people the very basics.

Well, you're lucky. Very special.

Bits and pieces. They happen in flashes.

I did notice that, luckily most of them are willing to learn.

I guess so.

I sometimes think that mine are never going to come back, it's been so long.

Thankfully.

Well, you did what no one else has been able to do and you got us off the ship. You saved the whole human race. What's left of it, anyway.
