Robert P. Cowhey 1966-2008 SPRINGFIELD - Robert P. Cowhey, 41, of Springfield died Saturday May 17, 2008 in Falmouth Hospital, Falmouth. Robert was born on June 28, 1966 at Fort Lee Army Base, Virginia. He was the son of Barbara L. (LeMay) Cowhey of Springfield and William P. Cowhey, Sr., of Pennsylvania. Robert has resided in Springfield for most of his life and was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church. He was employed as a insulation installer for Green Mountain Insulation, White River Junction, Vermont for the past 7 years and had previously worked as a window cleaner for 12 years at National Window Cleaning in Springfield. Robert played little league baseball for St. Catherine of Siena Parish. He loved NASCAR and was an avid fan of Jimmy Johnson and the New England Patriots. Besides his parents, Robert he is survived by a son, Erik R. Cowhey of Indian Orchard, a daughter, Rachele A. Cowhey of Springfield; and their mother, Christa Berardi of Indian Orchard; his maternal grandmother and godmother, Dorothy LeMay of Cedar Park, TX; a brother, William P. Cowhey, Jr. of Enfield, CT; a sister, Christine Bennett of Springfield; his companion; Marsha McGinnis of Lebanon, NH; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. A funeral home service for Robert will be held on Friday evening May 23, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Visiting hours for Robert will precede the service at the funeral home on Friday May 23, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the Bishop Leo O'Neill Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129.
