ah... día de la acción de gracias...

This year, instead of a list of things I'm thankful for, I tought I'd draw up a list of things I can't complain about anymore. Which I guess is the same thing, just put in a much more cynical (typical, huh?) way. Enjoy...

Things I can't complain about after having lived in South America:
air quality
noise
air conditioning (or lack thereof)
sunburn
gross smells
ants, cockroaches, bats, and other annoying critters
slow internet connections
getting cut off on the phone
road
faulty infrastructure
guys (no matter how annoying they may be back home, nothing can make you feel more cheap and dirty than a south american man hissing at you from the back window of a bus)

Miss you all, miss the states, despite the cynicism I am having a fantastic time, and going "home" will definitely be bittersweet. My kids are great... I only have 11 days left with them! And my host sister is due to give birth at any moment. Actually, her due date was this past Sunday, so we're all on the edge of our seats! I hope you all are enjoying your cold weather and turkey, and I'll see you soon!

PS - Sarah, New Year's plans are I think w/Jayne. Thanks for the invite though... we'll have to make up that time. I'll let you know when I find out when exactly we're coming to NC. Love -
