So, i haven't posted on here in a long time, but i was bored so i figured i would. As some of u know I was in "As You Like It" as the old man "Adam" what else? lol. it was a lot of fun i hope we do an encore show, cuz it's really a lot of fun. I became closer friends with people in the cast and crew. Mostly the seniors. I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss them. This year's seniors are the best. Seriously. I can't tell you how much fun I've had being in this show with so many great people. Even if you're not in theatre you should audition to be in a show, it's great. You have a lot of awesome times and i know im gonna have some great memories of this year.
I've finally decided that theatre is going to be the path I follow throughout my college career and after that too (hopefully) I don't care what my parents want. It's my life, my future, and i'll do with it what I want. (of course i have to argue that against" well it's my money sending you to college") But, w/e. I mean, ya, i want to be a teacher too, but like, as a last resort. Mrs.Roberts from MSOA seriously got me pumped. The last time i saw her, she told me that my dad was a realist and that I should do what i wanna do and follow my dreams. I know like, we've all heard that everywhere, on TV, and stuff, but coming from someone you know who can relate really makes it that much more powerful. I mean, my parents will support me but my mom just won't shut her mouth and agree with me, she has to make some negative remark, but she still agrees with me. And im just like, why can't you just agree with me and leave it at that. and then we get in an arguement. she always has to put in her two negative cents worth. Some of it's somewhat helpful i guess but most of it is just stupid bull crap that someone who doesn't think i could make it would say.
So, I went to N.Y. with the theatre department in September. It was amazing, of course. I love N.Y. We went and visited some colleges. We went to Julliard which was really cool. But i don't want to go there. The guy said that Theatre majors and (some other major I forget) aren't allowed to get jobs (like at all) because they are always in constant rehearsals for something. That's intense. And if i can't get a job, how Am I supposed to support myself??? Im not rich or anything so it would be extremely hard. We went to NYU. I WANT to go there. I'm not sure I would get in, but if I could, I want to go there really bad. The guy we met was really cool. My only problem with going to any college in N.Y. is that im going to want to go out and audition for Broadway things or something. But one guy we met made a really good point. "Why would you pay all of this money to go to college to learn and then just leave it?" I mean Broadway would be AMAZING but he does make a good point, i will have wasted like $12,000. So being patient would be hard. But other than that I WANT TO GO TO NYU.
We saw some shows that were really good. The second night we saw "Martin Short Fame becomes Me" Which was hilarious. Darrol Hammond(from Saturday Night Live) was in the audience and they put him in the show and he improved a little skit which was soo funny. Then after the show we met him and I got to stand next to him and he used my back to sighn a poster, i know that sounds corny but when a celebrity asks you if they can use ur back to sign a poster, u will do it. It was really cool and he was surrounded by a whole bunch of people. It was fun. Then we met Martin Short. He's Jack Frost in that new Santa Clause movie with Tim Allan. It was amazing. The only other celebrity we saw was Usher. I only got a glimpse of him, we saw everyone crouding outside the theatre where he was doing "Chicago" and we were passig by so we just decided to run over. I saw his face but then he got into his car so, no pictures or anything with him. We saw "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" Which was hilarious as well. I saw Suburbia with Jason. It was really good. It had Macauly Culkin's Brother in it, he was funny, (the show is a drama tho so don't see it expecting it to be a comedy). The other show we saw was "Title of Show"...words can't describe how amazing that show was. It was soo frigging funny, i nearly peed my pants. it was a smiple show, 3 chars and a keyboard was their set in this little theatre, and it was a show about the 4 people writing the show that they were performing in from of us. It was so funny and so great. We got a Q&A with them after the show, and we got to meet them it was awesome. They said that they were looking to do a highschool version of the show, and we offered so we might be doing that as a "Black Box" show next year. Which would be great.
One of our past theatre students had made into "Wicked" on Broadway, so we got a backstage tour of Wicked which was really cool. We didn't get to meet anyone except for the guy who went to our school and was in it. But it was awesome and we got to see everything backstage and he told us some secret stuff about the show. Gahh, Amazing!
Next, So, we took "As You Like It" to FTC. We had a blast, the judges loved the show. We didn't win though. We were kind of expecting not to win though. Only because we had won the Year before, and our show was a comedy and they usually always pick dramas. So this past weekend we took "As You Like It" to District competition, which we kicked ass at of course. We're going to State, but we might not compete if we get chosen to Mainstage (which we will find out if we do, in January) I really want to mainstage, the show is so amazing. I didn't know how cool our set looked until someone showed me pictures. The lighiting and that set along with the trees, are absolutely amazing, breathtaking. Mr.Blanchette did an amazing job. He won Best Tech at Districts. Anyways, Now im just crazy busy, with working on one of my Senior Rep. monologues, and i've got to find a monologue and do a character analysis for my jury. for Individual Events I've got to find a contrasting monologue to compete in the monologue part, and I might be doing 2 duet scenes, Im in a large group Musical "Lancelot" from "Spam a lot" which should be great, then theres My academic subjects, homework, tests, exams to prepare for. aggh! But im sure it'll work out.
Then theres the "job" situation. Publix absolutely sucks (duh). So, I'm trying to get a job at Johnny Rockets, as a waiter. They make like, $100 a night in tips, that's more than I make in a week at publix even with tips. And my new boss at Publix sucks too, she's a bitch and noone likes her, and she's been pissed at me cuz i had to miss so much work becasue of the show. The guy at Johnny Rockets is really cool. I sat in on one of their little meetings, and he said that he compeletely understands that we have to be teenagers and have our fun, and we have other extra curricular stuff. And he said he wouldn't want to deprive us of that. And he said he'd be throwing parties and stuff, he seems like a really nice guy and that just made me want to work there even more. He hasn't called me back yet. But i can understand cuz he's been really busy, they had the CEO of Johnny Rockets come this past Saturday. I mean, that's a really big deal. The guy flew out from L.A. to see their Johnny Rockets, here ins South Florida, in The Gardens. It's because that it used to be ranked like store # 300 something, and they've worked their way up to #5. That's really good. So i really hope I get to work there.
So, anyways, that's been my Junior year of Highschool so far, im sure there's other stuff I didn't mention but my hand is getting a little tired so im not gonna bother. Sorry for any gramatical errors i may have made, but i just wrote a whole shit load of stuff and don't really want to go back over it and fix it all. But, Have a Great Thanksgiving everyone! See you back at school!
