Another Update
1. Went to Louisville and spent the weekend with my family Aug. 16-19. Despite some confusion with my mom's phone, I got home alright and was able to spend it with her and my brother. The weekend was somber and quiet at home. My sister's birthday came and went with nothing big happening (a good thing in a sense). I sort-of read the autopsy report; a part of me not understanding some of it and another part getting a little too emotional as I read all the details. Turns out there was something else wrong with my sister. Something that was causing her pain, but went unnoticed.
Anyway, the weekend was nice. My mom, in her own way, made it clear that she really appreciated me coming down and visiting. I also enjoyed the trip. I spent time with mom, and also made it out with my friends Chris & Ricco. Went to Connections, Tryangles, and the new leather bar, Boots, on Saturday evening. I had a great time and it was good to see them as well.
2. Jim is still on the job hunt. The job at Playhouse did not happen, but there are two positions that are interested in him over at the Aronoff. Also, another job is on the horizon, but I'm not sure how interested Jim is in it.
3. My job has been a bitch! There's just a lot of work and not enough hands to get it done. It's been getting so I spend every day catching up from the day before. Unfortunately, with fall and winter fast approaching, things will only get busier. Oh well!
4. Despite some of the stresses in our lives, Jim and I had a very good Labor Day weekend. We spent most of it together. We saw Stardust and went out. We also stayed in and just enjoyed each others' company. It was nice.
5. Due to all of this, and other events, I have decided to take a leave of absence from the men's chorus until January. It just seemed like the right thing to do. I need some time to myself and will be heading to Louisville a bit more often. A friend of mine was telling me that I might get too used to having the free time and won't go back. That will not be the case. I already miss the group!
