Points from the week/weekend

It's been a long while since I've actually made a post. My schedule has been extremely busy as of late, so finding time to write a post is a little harder than I thought it would be. I'm working on it, though, and will try to post a bit more. There's been a lot going on this past week for me:

1. The Know Theatre Tribe opened up at its new space on Thursday. It's an amazing space and it just feels right being there. I worked the opening night ribbon cutting ceremony and then went in on Friday evening to make sure everything was alright and to attend the after party that evening. There were a lot of people admiring the new space over the weekend and (hopefully) enjoying the current production In the Blood. I took moments to just step up a little and look out on the crowd. It was a pleasant feeling seeing all this hustle and bustle for the arts. I liked it, I really did.

2. WORK! My job keeps me extremely busy these days. Last week was the worst. Spending three hours in training on a system that is almost exactly like our previous system, only to be told that the main 2-3 things that I do in my job responsibilities are not quite ready yet (meaning, they are still working on it)! It was frustrating, and I was able to tell my boss and her boss about it. They were almost going to not have us do any training, but I did tell them that it was beneficial to at least see the "new" system just so you get a look at some of the minor differences. Therefore, training went on for the rest of the clerical staff. The training did, however, take people away from their desks which meant more for ME. That plus having to take on someone else's job for two days while they were on vacation and it caused me to be behind on my work. It's been stressful and I'm just glad to clock out every day at 5pm and go home.

3. Jim and I are doing well. Like me, Jim has also been busy with his work (acting). He finishes up the show Kooky Tunes this Tuesday and then finishes another show (Thunder Over the Mountain) this weekend. Along with the acting, he's also been working his tail off at the costume shop getting things ready for other shows AND getting the League ready for its annual unified auditions later this month. May will be a break from any substantial acting gigs for him while he prepares for the auditions (which will take a big chunk of his time). June will be our three year anniversary!

Since we're not going to Bear Pride in Chicago, we've been trying to think of where else to go. We thought about visiting our friends in Indy and spending the weekend there, but it's the same weekend as the Indy 500. SO, no, we ain't going there. We're going to get together on Wednesday night (after CMC rehearsal) and look into what we can do. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be wonderful. We've thought about Nashville, Columbus, St. Louis, Detroit, and even Philadelphia. Nothing's set in stone yet, though.
