The car ride home was good. Jim and I pretty much took the opportunity to talk about the weekend as a whole.
We got up about 9:30am on Sunday, showered and dressed and finished packing. I tend to be a pain when it comes to packing, especially when I have been some place and am on my way back home. I check and double-check to make sure I don't leave anything. I also usually have difficulty repacking as somehow, I've either gained extra clothes or am just unable to get things packed the way they once were. Well, it doesn't take long and we ready to go. Jim grabs the bags and I go to let Will know that we're leaving. I give him a quick hug and then we head out. He was tired (no surprise there) and didn't even get up to lock the door behind us. I locked the bottom lock and headed down to the car. We were soon on the road!
We talked a great deal about Will and how we felt about the situation there. We agreed that next time we do something like this, we're going to need to get more info from the person about what they need. Personally, I would have rather stayed in a hotel and dealt with the expenses later on, but let my desire to save some money guide me. I wondered about if Russ (who was supposed to come down with us and actually was the one who came up with the idea of going to this run and made the arrangements for us all to stay with Will) would have went us, how things would have been. Will apparently liked Russ..a lot. So, who knows what would have happened.
Soon, the fact that I messed around with Will a little came up. Jim honestly said that he was "creeped out" that I did that. I understood why he was and was feeling the same way. I told him that I found him a little attractive. I'm a sucker for short/buzzed/bald hair and also long hair that I can run my fingers through. Will had the latter and is (surprisingly) a good kisser. Plus, the only time that I messed around with him was during the after-hours party and it was because he was messing around with someone I was also interested in (it happens). Jim still felt a little creeped out, but understood. I think he just wants to purge Will completely from his memory. I definitely understand that.
Anyway, soon we talked about the run as a whole. Our issues dealt with the amounts of time that were set off for events. The events for Bearapalooza, though great and excellent, ran very long with little to no breaks in between artists. For example, the Saturday event ran for 6 hours (well, technically 5 since it started an hour late). When the event was going to be outside, I can understand this. This would have given some of the things that were set up outside more play (i.e. the Bear Wash, dunk tank, etc.), making something of a carnival/fair type feel. However, with the performers being indoors (due to the heat) and the other stuff outside, in addition to the only door out there being right next to the stage, it made for very uncomfortable moments. I think maybe having a couple of sets with breaks would have definitely been more comfortable. The weather probably had more to do with this (even indoors it was quite warm), but it might have just made some things comfortable.
We made good time on the way back to Cincy, stopping a few more times than we did on the way up for breaks. The heat, the decongestants I was taking, and just being hungry caused more stops. It was fine though. We got back to Cincy pretty early. We hung out at my apartment and had a little "we time" ^_~ before Jim headed home to unpack.
Although we had these problems, overall we felt the run was good. We enjoyed meeting a lot of the people and having some good fun down in Nashville. The people are definitely friendly and hospitable and the event in and of itself was EXTREMELY well organized. I definitely congratulate the Music City Bears, and also the organizers of Bearapalooza, for an entertaining run. For the most part, our problems were things that the run itself could do nothing about. I know that I did enjoy myself and maybe enjoyed it a little more than Jim (this might have to do with the fact that I had people/friends made prior to going down there through LJ and Bear411). There were some great people there (you know who you are ^_~) and it was fun. We'll unsure about attending again, but might do so if they moved it to earlier or later in the year (July is just too damn HOT!).
And, that's it! There isn't anything more to say. Well, except this: I'm definitely glad I got the opportunity to meet some great, great people like Dan, Craig, Tony, Cris, Bobaloo, Kendall, Tosh, Myk, Andrew, Sterlin, Derrick, Eric, Rob, Sammie, Keith, JBear, Richard, DrewBear, Robert, Robert, John, Mike, Matt, and Jean-Paul. You guys made the run fun for me just by being there. :-)
