Intermission & Photos

So I'm been posting mostly about BearJam, so I thought I'd take a break and let you know what's been going on since then.

Monday, I had off work and I was TOTALLY lazy. I didn't do anything. Of course, I was feeling under the weather. Jim and I both caught something while in Nashville (no, not that, just a cold). Jim seems to think it had something to do with being in all the hot, hot weather and such on Saturday and then nearly freezing during the banquet at BearJam that night. The AC was kicking ass all night long. I was shivering by the end of it. Yeah, that's probably what did it. The cold is still hanging on Jim, but I'm feeling much better now.

Tuesday and Wednesday were back to work days. Got caught up thanks to a co-worker was sitting in on my job while temps took over hers. It was a piece of cake going back into work and I thank her for doing that.

Thursday night, Jim and I went to see Sunday in the Park with George by Sondheim being staged by New Stage Collective. To be honest, it wasn't very good. The cast was way too young to pull off this show (or Sondheim period) and there were several moments where I could not hear the performers singing (there were no mics anywhere). The leading man and leading lady were okay, but no one in the rest of the cast stuck out to me. However, the costumes and set were very well done (Jim and the company he works for did some of the first act costumes). The company itself is young (the Artistic Director didn't looked the same age as me), so that may have something to do with it. Plus, it's summer theatre. So, eh...

Friday and Saturday nights, I'm working box office for Know's show Matt & Ben. Hopefully, it will do well. Any Cincinnatians want to see the show for free? Come this weekend cuz it's Pay-What-You-Can preview weekend. It's a funny show!

And now, some pictures from last Friday's adventures during BearJam!

Here's the start of the Broadway tour. To the right is the Gaylord Convention Center needle and the First Baptist church. The church had one of those moving, promotional signs (a la Kings Island) that mentioned events coming up and such. I thought that was funny.

Here's a picture of the famous Ryman Auditorium, the original Grand Ole Opry. We didn't pass in front of it, so this was the best shot I could get. The daddy bearish guy in front is Matt Temple, one of the two tour guides and a performer during Bearapalooza. Very nice voice and fun guy.

Tootsies, which is another famous landmark of Broadway. It's where the performers at the Ryman would go after their shows. This was also a candid shot of some nice bear asses (hehehe).

First pic is of my honey Jim inside Tootsies, where the group stopped for a rest and a couple of beers. The next is a group shot that was taken. My camera didn't do too well with the dark atmosphere there, but it was way too crowded in the other bar for this shot, so they took it here. Oh well. Included in the shot is mykinmissouri. It was such a pleasure to meet you! ;-)

I forgot the name of this place, but it's supposedly an excellent tattoo and body piercing shop. Since Jim and I have been thinking about getting one (tattoo), I shot a picture.

More often than not, you've seen a poster or something that was made by Hatch Show Print. Jim told me that they were famous for their type of printing. We stepped inside and took a quick peek around. Was very fun...I think chrisglass will like this place. Also in the pic is Derrick (see last post) and Dean. Dean is another Music City Bears member and was also our other tour guide.

Cincinnati has its pigs, Nashville has its guitars. Here's a sampling of the many we saw on Broadway (and no, they are not that big, Jim's just in the background ^_~).

Jim sucking...on a rib at Jack's Bar-B-Q where the group stopped for some tasty lunch. Man, it was dee-licious!!

And finally, this shot is of Union Center and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. They were right across the street from the hotel. I saw several of our tour buddies venture inside after the tour was over, but Jim and I were too hot and sweaty to do that. It will probably be a stop we'll take the next time we hit Nashville (when we go of our own accord and have a bit more free time).

I still have several more pics to share and will have another heavy pic post later (More than likely after I post about Saturday). TTFN! ;-)
