(no subject)
I just realized my last post was December 2007!?! I've been reading everyone else's LJ for awhile, but not posting.
Here's my life right now:
Graduated 2 years ago, contemplating going back for my MA. It's just a matter of what (exactly) and where. I'm thinking Education, emphasis on curriculum development. I don't want to be a classroom teacher. I really love after school because there's no teaching to the test and I have a lot more freedom to trick kids into thinking learning is fun. I get to work on the whole person rather than individual academic subjects.
David and I have been living together for over a year with our kitty cat. Things are going great. It's been about 3 years.
I finished my first year running my own after school program at North Park Middle School. I set a record for most field trips in a year within my organization (6), did 4 competitive sports leagues, ran 11 clubs, supervised 14 staff, and met my attendance requirements. It was a good year, and now that I know what the hell I'm doing, I have even bigger plans for next year.
I'll be working at a summer program in El Monte. It's going to be weird because it's an elementary school and I love my middle school mutants, but it's a job and I'm grateful to be employed right now.
