Im back! And im pretty tired also. but in a good way... i mean... im tired because of good, enjoyable things. well a mix of both summerstage = good, musical rehersal = bad, film = very good.
Today is a sunday in july and i believe it is the 24th. yes indeed it is. i filmed today. it rocked! yes for those of you who arent as informed as others, the independant film i am a part of is very much underway.. again.. i know ive been talking about it all year.. but we have resumed filming these past weekends and its been totally awesome. just about everything about it is thrilling. and i feel like a real actor should... getting up at an obscene time in the morning, relying on coffee for energy, and arriving in costume on location for the shoot. when we got there we had a little conclave to decide and discuss the preceedings of the day, we also saw a very large eagle or kestrel or something.. big scary bird of prey perching in the trees. and we filmed our first scenes that, in the story, took place roughly a half hour after last summer. haha.. continuity galore! we seemed to be on the ball thanks to neil, or 'dammit neil' as he is now called. it was a sweet scene between me (tom) and antonia (janet) as she is consoling me after getting abused by my aunt.. they also end up kissing.. ive never actually kissed anybody on stage before, and very rarely in front of other people, even friends.. i mean its all actign anyways.. not like it meant anythign right? but it was still fun to be sitting there and kissing someone i barely know about 6 times in front of crew members and a camera. but it was cool... dont get me wrong im not complaining in the least. pah! ian cardoni complain about kissing a girl! unheard of! no seriously, it was fun to play 1920's emo for a day... and those who are aware of the situation with alyssa will know that i have something to draw on for my character to make me uneasey, distraught and absolutely torn apart (thats to you aly ;) ) anyways, i felt the shoot went very well, wasnt too hot thank god.. i was wearing 3 layers of clothes!
aside from the thrill of being on camera itself.. what makes this experience so wonderful for me is just the amazing cast and crew ive gotten to work with. my director chelsea, is just so wonderful, and its really comfotable working with her and carrie, AD, dammit neil, emily (who my band friends will be interviewed by), and antonia. they are such fun people. i find myself gettign paranoid at times, determined not to let them all down, i always catch myself to try and like, remember everything about acting.. haha. its film, not a big broad stage, so i gotta lose my bigness, but not my presence. my huge facial expressions reduced to a subtletly but with even more passion. (for those who dont care, dont read, or scroll down to mr. face.) its such a great, new process to learn and experience. egads man, im excited about it!
well i still have another weekend of filming.. it should be fun cuz theres lotsa action (action meaning cars and dogs and child abuse, no kissing, sorry dudes) im lookign forward too it.
all that jazz lasted till about 2.. seems early, but then again, you werent there since 9 in the sun... or were you....????????
so when i got home brian calls and asks to use my venue (house) for filming the tv show called mr. face. hes a floating head.. with a hat.. hes jsut a face. and he has a voice like hes constantly stoned. they fight norwegians and scream a lot about magic and bananas. uh huh. so we filmed 3 and 1/2 episodes on chris' digital. the episodes are 3 minutes each. and they are funny. mike was being an arse too.. but thats besides the point.
dad stole harry potter from me and has been reading it incessantly.. so i havent finished it yet. im 2/3rds done though.. i know all that happens. (damn you phsychic abilities!) and here i am, evening time, my cerebrum is stirring surreptitious sentiments, so summer stage should be a success. and that my friends is alliteration.
g'nite all.
