Random updates...
- My car was very sick. Moreover, the person I trust to fix my baby when it's sick wasn't sure that he could, 'cause he's a Ford/Dodge/Chrysler guy and I drive a Corolla. This was even more upsetting, 'cause I REALLY didn't want to take it to a dealer. However, the guy cleaned my fuel injectors and everything seems to be back to (if not better than) normal. I'm happy.
- I've been looking for an authentic Irish brown bread recipe since I got back from Ireland a year ago. I finally found a few worth trying and made one last night. The verdict: It's pretty good. It is not, however, brown bread. And the other recipe has strange things in it that I'm going to have to get at a whole foods store; the problem is that the only such store I know of is on the other side of town. This just won't do. (Of course, part of the problem could be that I really didn't know what I was putting in the bread last night... our kitchen is full of lots of unmarked containers that Mom tasted and then guessed as to their contents).
- I'm on a Ridley Pearson kick. It's fun. I may have to take a break, though, to read a book I just came across. It's about a post-revolution America where the women are now in charge. Looks funny.
- Joey now stands up holding on to things (that is, he can stand leaning against the couch. Believe it or not, this is a huge improvement, as he now has the balance to not fall over).
I can't think of anything else interesting in my life... how sad. Could be because I'm short on sleep and have an unbelievable headache; who knows? I'll update later if I remember more.
Oh... and I keep having the plot for a novel running around in my head. Well, not the plot, the characters. And I half wish they'd leave and half wish they'd give me a plot to write... :-(
