Boyfriends

There's just something about having a boyfriend in high school that's romantic and relaxing i guess. To some there's the small fairy tale hope that they'll be the one you marry and grow old with, for some it happens others realize it's not in fate for them. I have no problem with the high school boyfriend thing until it turns to drama. I kinda have to admire my best friend Chloe mainly because she doesn't believe in having boyfriends in high school nessecseraily. I on the other hand think it would be nice to have a boyfriend not that it would probably ever happen for me. Guys flirt but then after a while walk away. The only problem I see with high school boyfriends is that some people aren't sure how to handle the situation. Mostly how to balance out a boyfriend and eveything else. Torn between friends and a boyfriend is tough and makes things uncomfortable for everyone.

The thing that sticks out the most is when your friend gets a boyfriend and seems to dump you in a way. They're never around and there is no one to talk. Unfortunately I have expierenced this a couple times being the girl that never has a boyfriend, not that it bothers me, it means I can dance around to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and not feel guilty. But if you've ever been in this situation you know how it feels because you wanna tlk to them but don't wanna be a pest as to where they will get mad at you for interupting their time with their boyfriend/girlfriend. Doesn't matter if the friend is a boy or girl. The thing is they always come back eventually that is if they can. Not saying it to be mean but if you were the friend with the boyfriend and did this then you know that you'll lose friends. People hate being ignored and just want some reconition.

The fairy tale lingers still in every girls mind in high school. You'll meet prince charming and fall in love and end up getting married and having the dream. It's akward because to some it'll happen and that's great but to a bigger number it won't. There are times when everyone wonders if maybe just maybe their lover is sitting a few seats away and that's fine, it could be reality. There's just that glimmer and that makes the chase all worth while.

At my school every year near valentines day they give us a survey and it matches you to people you would be compatitable with for 2 dollers. Being curious I bought my list just to see who would be on it. People run around school compairing results and seeing who they got. Almost every single person I got on my list I've never considered dating and probably never will. They were the guys that wouldn't look twice at me and so it was a disappointment. Not that I need a boyfriend but the possibility is always there. The weird part about all this though is no one gets who they're actually dating on their list.

Still questioning the boyfriend thing, it's just intresting yet akward. The thing that you think about most is, is that if I don't have one is something wrong with me. The answer is no, nothing is wrong with you, as some see it it's worth the wait because then when you do get one it'll be all the more special. Something I'll find out I guess.
