Stolen from CosmicDancer (I don't know how to make the blue lines)
Did I do any professional writing this year? Plan B folded, so I did little if any.
Oh wait, I did a Beyond The Wizards Sleeve interview.
Original Fiction:
The Eye Of The Needle - my NaNoWriMo project (not posted anywhere)
Fan Fiction: (most of these are on Dance Is Gay which you need to join to read)
-"It's Paris; Two Boys Are In Love" - Potter/Xavier slash with bits of Erol
-There was also a nameless Erol/Potter flashback
-Valentine - Gaspard gets to know his synth a bit more intimately "Mon Dieu! Mah balls!"
-Magic Fingers - Potter/Erol collaboration with CosmicDancer
Part Fan Fiction/Part Original: (this is all on the Pulse_fic community)
-Pulse - the big one of 2009 that started as quite ordinary Erol fan fict and yet the most interesting character in it was actually Sandy P, who started as a vague cipher and took on a life of her own
-The Sandy P interviews
-Expert Knob Twiddlers - Pulse prequel featuring Sandy P, Aphex Twin and a thinly disguised Chris Cunningham
2009 Writing Survey
favorite story this year (of my own): Expert Knob Twiddlers (no reason, the last one is just always my favourite)
my best story this year: Pulse, because it was such a big, complex soap opera of a muddle and I still managed to cross every T and tie up every loose end
most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: The Eye of the Needle. Not under-appreciated by the universe, but not really appreciated by me. I spent every day with it for 30 days and it was too much. I never wanted to see it again by the end of it.
most fun story: Magic Fingers because collaborating with LXA was a complete joy. She kept throwing in little things that surprised and intrigued me and I had to write my way around that, which was really fun and challenging.
sexiest story: Two Boys Are In Love. I suppose it was more romantic and sweet than outright sexy, but that finally threesome was the filthiest bit of smut ever.
"holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: VALENTINE. A love story between a boy and his synth. Just so wrong. Alls I can say is, you're lucky it was Gaspard and not Aphex Twin or it could have been much much MUCH worse.
story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: the Sandy P interviews. It was the first time I really spent any time inside *her* head because Pulse was all written from Erol's PoV. The interviews made me have to get to know her as a person, rather than some flimsy receptacle for Erol's lust.
hardest story to write: Nothing was hard to write, really. I guess Eye of the Needle coz it wasn't fan fiction, but still some FF slipped in.
biggest disappointment: Not finishing Eye of the Needle.
biggest surprise: Some of the really horrifying filthy shit that came out of my head while writing Eye of the Needle. I knew my subconscious was kinda creepy, but I had no idea *how*. Chthulhonic tentacle sex kinda did my head in, really.
most telling story: probably Pulse, because although it ends as a love story, it starts as commentary on the aging process, and the fickleness of success and how the pop world treats and disposes of women as they age. The more I consciously tried to make Sandy *not* like me, the more bits of issues I was actually facing seemed to show through.
