11x22 | R Is For Romeo & Juliet
After spending most of the time this challenge was on thinking about any couple that would fit, I finally settled on the one pairing I still root for, even after all those years (and that I still am mad at Joss Whedon for ruining it as much as he did) - Wesley Wyndam-Pryce and Winifred "Fred" Burkle from "Angel The Series". The texts are quotes from the respective episodes (both from the show's final season 5), all of them said by Fred to Wesley *sniff*
a) A Hole In The World
aka the episode that started it all. After literal years of Wesley pining for Fred, they finally got together in the previous episode "Smile Time" - only for having it all crash and burn in the most heartbreaking way ever seen on TV.
b) Not Fade Away
In the series finale, Wesley somehow had made a kind of peace with seeing the body of the woman he loved so much being inhabitated by an indifferent, god-like ancient demon (who still was driving him closer to the brink of insanity by the minute!). However, faced with her "mentor"'s last living moments, Illyria shows something akin to different human emotions - first her vessel's love for Wesley, then the combined grief of both Fred and Illyria for the man who meant so much to them, albeit on different levels.
I also made textless versions of the wallpapers:
