For me, this song represents not only me, but Alice as well because no matter my past or the times I slipped, she was always there to tell me it was okay. She stood by me, no matter what. She always knew what to say, when the scared boy of my human years came out, or even the demon within tried to take over.

I'm lucky to have the life I have, to have survived all that I have and to have the mate I have. I try to tell her and show her every day that I love her, need her, and want her. Much like Eddie Vedder sings about in the song.
