You know what, fuck you Windows Media Player

So last night I decided I was gonna burn some mix CD's 'cause I hadn't for a while.  So I did.  And the first one came out fine (or so I thought).  I'd actually wager to say it's the best mix of songs I have ever created.

The Bitchinest Mix CD Ever (Arranged by Biff)
1.)   ELO - "Mr. Blue Sky"
2.)   Neutral Milk Hotel - "The King Of Carrot Flowers (Pts. 2 & 3)"
3.)   Peter Bjorn & John - "Objects Of My Affection"
4.)   New Pornographers - "Sing Me Spanish Techno"
5.)   BC Camplight - "Blood & Peanut Butter"
6.)   Regina Spektor - "Us"
7.)   The Delgados - "The Light Before We Land"
8.)   Camera Obscura - "Eighties Fan"
9.)   Metric - "Grow Up & Blow Away"
10.) Heart - "Dreamboat Annie"
11.) The Slip - "Life In Disguise"
12.) Smashing Pumpkins - "Dancing In The Moonlight"
13.) Umbrellas - "The City Limits"
14.) Iron & Wine - "Naked As We Came"
15.) Donovan - "Catch The Wind"
16.) Tegan & Sara - "One Month"
17.) Kaki King - "Joi"
18.) Mirah - "La Familia"
19.) Radiohead - "No Surprises"
20.) Sia - "Breathe Me"

So yeah, and I was pretty stoked about that.  But then I went to burn another CD and WMP was like "You can't put "Let Go" by Frou Frou and "The King Of Carrot Flowers (Pt. 1)" by Neutral Milk Hotel on here.  They don't have their length listed so... just no.  Douche bag."  Which was a load of shit, 'cause I went over to LimeWire and checked and both of them had their length listed ("Let Go" was 4:14 and "The King Of Carrot Flowers" was exactly 2:00).  So I put off burning that CD and went on to another one and I wanted to put "I Hate Everyone" by Get Set Go on it.  The dilemma was that I don't have that song on my computer: it's on the second volume of the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack.  So I thought, ya know, no problem, I'll just rip the CD.  So I stick it in and WMP was like "Not only am I not gonna rip this CD, but I'm gonna freeze up your computer"... so I had to restart it.  And shit like that kept happening, so I just decided to quit and go to bed.  So I was listening to the one CD that I got burned and on like three songs (tracks 2, 3, and 11) the music just cuts out like halfway through the song and the rest of the time it's just silence.  Not only that but there's this crazy, unnecessary amount of dead space between tracks 18 and 19 that I can't explain.

So yeah, I'm over Window's Media Player.  I've switched over to Real Player (not that it really matters much, I only use that stuff for burning and ripping... I listen to everything right on LimeWire).  I've actually considered switching back over to Musicmatch Jukebox, which is what I used to use back in like eighth and ninth grade.

So yeah that's it.

Peace:
BRAD
