Kava kava kava also ethical labor practices

Haven't posted here in a while (no one does), and I talk about kava way too much, but I'm going to do it some more!

Watching SVU, just had a couple shells. It's working on me a lot faster now. This bowl is a bit weaker than I usually make it, but it still feels stronger than usual. Hooray reverse tolerance! This is finally getting more cost effective. :D

I am very upset that Bula Kava House is out of Instant though. I was all set to buy a big tin and split it with a buddy of mine. They've been out for a couple of weeks now. Whyyyyyyy. :(

I'm having pure Borogu tonight. It feels a lot headier than before. I think that's another effect of the reverse tolerance: you feel more of the fast-acting, euphoria-inducing kavalactones.

When I am on kava all I want to do is talk about kava. That's probably annoying, but hey, this is the Internet, and you can stop listening to me without being rude!

Also: I am really hungry. I've been wanting to make cheesy biscuits for a while but I am out of cheddar. Whyyyyyy. :( That's a lot more upsetting than BKH being out of Instant.

Speaking of cheesy biscuits, never eat at Red Lobster. They and their parent company, Darden Restaurants, are under investigation and being sued for shitty labor practices. That means you should also not go to Olive Garden (alas!), LongHorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, or Eddie V's. Yeah, I haven't heard of most of those either, but Olive Garden! Red Lobster! Don't go there. If you want to learn more and also hear about some places that are good to go to, you can check out the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United site -- they're the folks doing the suing and they put out a handy guide to the labor practices of major chains and a few smaller shining examples (hey there Homegirl Cafe!) called the National Diners Guide.

More importantly than actually boycotting, though, is TELLING them that you're boycotting. They are unlikely to notice a fluctuation in business and attribute it to their shitty labor practices, but if you TELL them so, even if you don't actually boycott them, then they'll hear you.

If I wasn't all kava krunked I'd make a petition. I'm kind of annoyed that there's not already one. You can sign this pledge, though.

kava, labor
