I've gotten Google+ and barely done anything with it other than add a few people. I am so not into it enough to start up my whole new profile on it. I abandoned my Myspace account for this reason too. One nice thing is that Google+ has Male, Female, AND Other as gender options and it's also a whole lot easier to censor yourself (by way of "friend circles") than it is on facebook. At least, for me, the filter options were a little harder to do.
But yeah, it's all a big waste of time and it would probably do me good to not be so up-to-date on these things :P

This is why I use mainly forums. I can't keep up with all this new stuff. Facebook is the Big Thing, and now, all of the sudden, everyone's on Tumblr. I refuse. Once FB dies, I'm not joining anything new.
And I feel you on the news thing. I was talking to my friend one day, and was freaking out that Rammstein was coming to America. "Yeah, I saw that post on your Facebook." WAY TO KILL THE CONVERSATION.
Isn't it bad, anyway, to have so many sites? I mean, if you use the same e-mail address for them all, a few years down the road, someone could find an old account and it could be full of stuff that you didn't want anyone to find. :U
