Breathless
You've stolen something from me
But not anything that you
Or anyone else would surmise.
It was not my heart--
Your strong, gentle fingers
Never pried at its edges--
And at last I gave it
Willingly to you anyway.
Nothing so precious as a crystal
Blue sky or a drop of rain on
The pavement of a summer day:
But something so intimate only
Your kiss can express it.
You've taken it--
You've left me breathless.

Between my lips and his there is distance;
From his soft gaze to mine I see a space.
The miles, mountains, lakes, plains, cities, roads, rivers.
And yet I shut my eyes and bridge the gap.
untitled
Tongue touches teeth
To talk, to tell.
To trifle tumescently; trippingly.
Tremendous tinglings trickle timidly,
Translucently!
Towers tremble, tumble--
Teacups tip--tumultuous.
Tongue to touch--
To tear--to taste--
To tickle--to tease.
