update for the sake of updating

So I’ve been the undesirable limbo of ‘off line’ status for a few weeks now. It’s gotten me kicked off a shiny new graphics comm. On the plus side the semester ‘s over and I’ve my grades. I’ve got A’s. Oh yeah, baby, yeah.

In gaming news I’m still on my ME replay, I’ve gotten three achievements in TSE:Skyrim (seven left!), and Geralt of Rivia is a BAMF. Journey (thatgamecompany) is holding my heart hostage.

In writing endeavors I’ve been bitten by plot mabari. Who knows if I’ll actually get around to it. AU Dark Ritual from Dragon Age: Origins where Morrigan doesn’t go to the pc’s Warden for approval. Simple right? Right. Why would she have gone ahead and told the Warden her (+mother’s) plan to start with, anyway? That never jived with her personality, after all the Warden could have say ‘no way, go to hell’ and then where would she be? Without a little demon baby, that’s where.

Also, what would happen if more than one Warden delivers the killing-blow? Shared death- a mutual instant soul evaporation for all concerned or would the Wardens linger afterward for the Awakening DLC?

I also really want to get around to my New Game + mage story. I’ve not come across a redo in the DA fandom and I’m not sure why. Especially when the achievements cover both outcomes for all major decisions; mages vrs Templars, elves vrs werewolves, and of course: who are you and you’ve romanced whom?

Would Solona Amell, once Warden Commander for Ferelden, aim for being Grey Warden a second time around, or would she make a brake for it with Anders? Would she try and keep the ‘circle demon situation’ from becoming such a devastating problem? Would she work behind the scenes via charisma or murder the upstarts in a fit of pragmatism. If she allowed herself to be recruited (or hunted Duncan down to be legally pardoned from the whole unbound malificar deal), what would be different with the Flop at Ostagar? His Glory Shinyness? Teryn Glower?

I also really, truly want to change Daveth’s ‘witches, kettle, frog’ quip by assigning it to Ser Jory. The continuity guy must have been taking a brake when that was written into the scene because it’s the Knight that has no spine, not the hardened street rogue. I’ve wanted to add Daveth to the party and ditch the French Bard since the first mad dash across Ferelden (years ago).

Then there’s this Fable II crossover I keep seeing snitches of. What would Sparrow - a Hero maxed out on Strength, Will, and Skill - do in a Blighted Ferelden? Especially if she chose the ‘sacrifice’ tarot card at the end of her (yes, her. I’ve always gone with female pcs when given the choice) mighty quest. She’d help. Of course she would. But what would she do in a world so radically different?

Really, can you image what Duncan would do if he had the chance to recruit her for the Wardens- a sword welding, spell slinging Hero who’s ability and skill would probably surpass him Exp wise?

Could you image what Sparrow would do if an upstart Templar tried to send her to the Circle for being a cursed mage? Yeah, a bloody smear and Templar guts decorating the immediate area.

What would Sparrow do with the introduction of Demons?

What would happen with competent demons? Really, Cousland wouldn’t want to wake up in Warden-Central, but in Castle Highever were Rendon Howe wasn’t a betrayer. Amell would either be back in the Tower or living the high life of a free mage. Brosca would probably have been venerated at the Proving and been made a Paragon. But no, it was lazy and decided that as a Warden it wanted to be a battle-victorious Warden.

So I’ve got the following ideas (aka In the Inkwell):

Title: The Fine Print
Fandom: Dragon Age: Origins
Summery: Morrigan wasn’t expecting to like the Warden, to find a friend, a sister. It changes things, but only just. AU Dark Ritual.
Perspective: Morrigan, leading up to the ritual.
Pairing:
Expected Length: 1000 words.

Title: New Game + (drabble continuum)
Fandom: Dragon Age: Origins
Summery: Amell was killed by a talking darkspawn abomination in Amaranthine and wakes to Templars dragging her away from a family she doesn’t remember, in a body child-small and quite possibly not hers.
Perspective: Amell, who mind-fraks the Templars while preparing for the Blight
Pairing:
Expected Length: 100-500 words per drabble; 15 drabbles.

Title: War Spoils
Fandom: Dragon Age: Origins
Summery: The Cousland Pup is guarded by a spirit she grows to resemble, who ensures the youth is given training on par with that of a seasoned Warden-Commander, and sets her on a path different than What Once Was. Non-Warden story. A Cousland who leads a rebellion against the Blight, Howe, and Loghain; a Cousland who becomes Queen.
Perspective: Cousland, as she grows from a child to after Howe’s betrayal.
Pairing: Cousland + Ser Gilmore (or Nathaniel Howe)
Expected Length: 500-1000 words per drabble; 5-10 drabbles.

Title: Heroic Endeavors
Fandom: Fable II/Dragon Age: Origins
Plot: If she hears ‘death is not your destiny today, little Sparrow’ one more time, she’s going on a killing spree. Being Avo’s Chosen One has it benefits, like the long-life health plan, so at least she doesn’t have to worry about the Blightened taint. Regardless, Duncan can’t believe his luck, Flemeth is only half-right, Loghain doesn’t sound the retreat, and Alistair, well, Alistair is more that a little frightened.
Perspective: multiple
Pairing:
Expected Length: only Theresa knows.

Title: At Journey’s End, We’ll Meet Once More
Fandom: Alice in Wonderland (Burton, Carroll, Syfy fusion)
Summery/Plot: The Red Queen had a second reign and Alice is one of the very few survivors of the ensuing war, right up until she isn’t. Cue exposition and the personification of Death and Time, a friendly wager between the two god-aspects, and a redo scenario that has General Alice battling the Jabberwocky with the Vorpal Sword when the White Queen’s first Champion failed.
Perspective: Alice
Pairing: Alice/Hatter
Expected Length: ?

rl: life, rl: gaming, rl: rant
