noise has never been so pretty

Hey friends.

ok, so I gotta geek out a bit, computer music style.

This weekend was filled with Christmas gift making and checking out a friend of mine's pe
rformance at a Push Pins event - ELECTROLLS.  The first gent, clinker,  filled everything up with his sound, incredible.  I could feel the reverb everywhere.  It was this slow, melodic build of sound .. soo lovely.  Then came Real T Cardinal , the laptop musician of the bunch, and cohort (can't remember the other gent's name, but he handled the video game controller).  What really pricked up my ears, or rather my eyes, was that there was video (which is my love, of course).  Cardinal said that the video was being controlled by the audio in some ways and by a video game controller in other ways.  Couldn't see the connections, but it was an interesting process to watch and some of the images were dreamy.  I wish I had stayed to chat with him about it, but a friend of mine offered a ride back to dt, so I took it (especially considering the gig was out in a part of Edmonton where there are few sidewalks to walk on ... you know you're far away when there are no sidewalks ... only stretches of foot deep snow).  Then last , but certainly not least was holzkopf aka my friend Jake, who's antics make for a great live performance.  He really gets into the sounds especially when laying down some fat beats.  I hadn't seen him perform as of yet so was a treat fo' sho' ... this from an unbiased friend, of course ; ).

Check out these great musicians!!  You won't be sorry.

with love, friends of the c.a.
