Bad Keeper.. Bad!
So went to play soccer this wednesday as per usual. Had my new sweet Umbro keeper gloves with me (because the odd times I play keeper, other peoples gloves are stinky and scare me) - plus they cost a stylish $20! w00t end of season. In any event... there was no volunteer for keeper tonight so I said "fuck it"... ended up playing net the WHOLE DAMN GAME (which... is ok).
I made about TWO nice stops, that I'm proud of. The rest where not worth mentioning... low threat stops/deflections, whatever. But I DID proudly let like 7 goals pass :D MOST of which where largely of my own failing. Though it would have been cool if I'd had defense challenge the like, 2 skilled players who always seemed to be unchallenged one on my far left, one on my right in front of the net. A lot of the goals I let by? I was the one who needed to challenge... There's this one little guy? quick and pretty skilled - for some reason he'd always run up and I NEVER challenged him!!!! so ridiculous. Oh well - it was a learning experience.
I learned... next game I'm playing defense/mid again - fuck this keeper shit ;)
ALSO post game - I just enjoyed my first 'shower beer'. If you have not tried this... I can now with first hand experience very happily recommend it. Warm/hot shower - cold beer... very VERY nice.
Sitting in a towel typing up this post, I'm going to go put some clothes on - and allegedly go out with some of the other soccer cats to grab a non-shower beer and a bite.
