i do believe you are blushing

christmas was better than i expected. when you set your expectations low, everything is a pleasant surprise.

i gave gifts and i received gifts -- and not necessarily in that order.

i bought myself lots of presents too. i mean, why the fuck not?

my top 3 favorite gifts i bought for myself this christmas (in no particular order):

1. a new cell phone - this purchase was crucial considering my old cell phone was on life support after i spilled an entire 20 oz. cup of dr. pepper on it. half my phone book was deleted and a few of the buttons stopped working. it was time to upgrade anyway.

2. sweat pants - yes, i have entered the realm of wearing sweat pants. and guess what? i love it! i look forward to coming home from a hard day at work and changing into my sweat pants. god bless sweat pants.

3. scar tissue by anthony kiedis -

i'm only half way through the memoir of the red hot chili peppers' lead singer and it's been an interesting tale - so far. it's no dirt by motley crue but it is a close second with all of kiedis' detailed accounts of sex, drugs and rock n roll. this particular passage has intrigued me:

"In Houston, we were coming off the stage on the way to the bus when I ran into another Marilyn Monroe look-alike. Unlike her New Orleans counterpart, this little Marilyn never broke character. She became my Houston girlfriend, and every time we'd play there, I'd wind up going back to her apartment and having sex, and she'd be in her own private Marilyn movie."

WHO IS THIS MARILYN MONROE LOOK ALIKE?!?!

ANYWAY....

i said good bye to two friends today. the first being michael corona, my best friend of over ten years. he was in town for two nights visiting friends before driving back to the city of wind (chicago) all by his lonesome this afternoon. the second being casey leydon. hey casey, i'm relieved you didn't really pee in my shoes before you left. i'll miss you, you fucker!

i would miss you, too. but you're always around.
