The Doorway to...

Dec 20, 2004 00:07

At 5 years old, Lily was a little different than other kids. She knew more than what was expected of a child her age. Adults would be stunned by the way she spoke and the things she knew about, sometimes correcting them when they were wrong about something they were discussing. They would ask her parents, "How does she possibly know that?" Their reply was usually, "I don't know" accompanied with a smile, proud of their little girl.
But these things were to be expected, when you teach a child at a young age the ways of adulthood. Although she had other things being taught to her... things people would think to be out of the norm.

At night, her Father would take her out to his teaching ground- the backyard pool. They would lay on floats, look up at the stars, and talk about space, God, and things of the unknown. She loved learning about the unknown, and hated the moments when her Mother would come out and say, "It's getting late, it's time for bed", because she didn't want the discussions to end. But they never really did, since there was always another night to continue the fun.
Her Mother would teach her things that were a bit different, and always waited for her Husband to leave for work before beginning the lessons since he was a bit skeptical (more like scared). Her Mother would teach her how to develop her sixth sense. She would take cards with the square, circle, wavy lines, and so on, place them face down on the table, pick one up at a time, and ask Lily to "tell" her which card it was. She would also hide things around the house for Lily to find through concentration. She taught a lot about telepathy, psychokinesis, and other strange things that not many people believe to be possible (when they really are). People shouldn't underestimate the power we truly hold. But unfortunately with religion, cultures, and the way parents teach of so called reality, the children miss out on what they can really do.
But not Lily. She knew.

When your a child, your free. Your full of innocence and purity that flow through the air and glow like energy. Your senses are wide open to receive whatever you desire. Now, when you are at this young age, and you have parents like Lily's who teach more about the possibilities of the mind, your energy glows even stronger, and it has the ability to attract other energies.
These energies can be of good or evil, and
these energies are of the dead... and beyond.

Lily always had the feeling of people around her... people unseen. She would tell her parents how she felt someone had died in the house or was buried beneath them, but they always took it as a dream she may have had.
She would tell them about her lamps flickering in her room, but when they would check the bulbs they were perfectly fine. They would even change them out to help Lily feel better, and check the connections and wiring, but they still flickered when they left the room. Lily knew it were those unseen trying to communicate with her. She knew one of them was her grandmother who died before she was born, she had no fear with that spirit. But there were others who frightened her, and it made her angry when her parents wouldn't believe her when she spoke about them. Again, they took it as a dream she may have had.

Then one night, Lily was asleep in her room and woke up with her name being called, "Lily, Lily".
Her bed faced her dresser that had a large, rectangular mirror on top of it. Whenever she woke up, she would see herself in the mirror and the cross that hung above her bed on the wall.
But not this time.
When she woke up, instead of seeing her reflection, she saw a door in a plain white room, with a bluish hue like her night light.
And let me remind you, she was completely awake.
For a moment she just stared into the mirror and couldn't believe what she was seeing.
She always kept her bedroom door open, for like I said, strange things happened when she was alone, so she didn't like her bedroom door closed at any time. From the opening, she could always see her Father's clock clearly from her parents bedroom. But this time it seemed foggy inside their bedroom, and she couldn't see it very well.
She called out for her parents, "Mommy, Daddy?" but didn't get an answer.
Then she heard her name called again, "Lily, Lily", but it wasn't her parents calling for her, it was a voice coming from the mirror.
She screamed, "Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy", but then the voice replied, "your parents can't hear you right now". She became paralyzed with fear. "Come through the mirror Lily, come through the mirror. It's a much better world over here." She wanted to run, but felt trapped. She was afraid whoever the voice was did something to her parents, she didn't know where to go, or what to do. Then the door inside the mirror began to open slowly. Hands from behind the door came out and motioned for her to come in. Again, the voice said, "Come through the mirror Lily, come through the mirror. It's a much better world over here. Come through the mirror Lily, we'll have so much fun together." She screamed out, "No, no, no" over and over again.
Then the door inside the mirror began to close, while the hands that were motioning to her slowly went back inside. Then there was only one hand left, and the door slammed upon it. It jerked with immense pain, then the voice said, "We'll be back for you Lily. We'll come back", accompanied with wicked laughter.
Since she was still paralyzed with fear, she flung the covers over her head and squeezed her eyes tightly shut and began to pray for it all to go away, and just kept on repeating it to just- go away.
She eventually fell back to sleep.
When she woke up in the morning, she couldn't help but just stare at the mirror. She looked over at the clock in her parents bedroom and saw it clear as day, and she heard them out in the dining room and became at ease, knowing that they were fine.
She rushed out, and told her parents what happened that night, but unfortunately they didn't believe her, and again, dismissed it as a dream. She ran to her room crying, upset they didn't believe her, and realized she would have to deal with these things all on her own.

This is the time when things out of the ordinary began to happen to Lily. Through the years she was plagued with nightmares of incredible evil, accompanied with visions of strange things good and bad.
Lily now 29 years old, does not have even one mirror in her bedroom. Removing them seems to have helped her nightmares go away. She still has a few here and there, but at least it's not every night.

It's as if mirrors are a doorway to another world... the other side where evil can dwell.
