Summary: Kim Jaejoong looks exactly the same as his twin sister, Eun Byul. When fall rolls around and it's time to start high school, their identical faces manage to confuse loads of people, including one hunky guy by the name of Jung Yunho. Which would've been totally fine...had he not been dating one of the twins. Troubles come when even Yunho himself is unable to pinpoint who he loves out of the two.
I sat alone at the benches in front of the school with my backpack at my feet, and looked down at the striped blue lunchbag in my lap. Today was my very first day of grade ten, and my first day of high school. It would have been a wonderful occasion, with Mom cooing, "Oh, my baby's all grown up now!" and Dad giving congratulatory smiles, but unfortunately my twin sister, Eun Byul, decided that the first day would be the best date to stay home, sick. Thus, I was left to fend for myself in a school full of strangers and potentially dangerous staircases. ( I fell down one of those in elementary school. Not fun. Take my word on it.)
Strands of hair fell loose from behind my ear, swaying back and forth along with the early autumn breeze. Sighing, I popped open the lid of my container and stared at the food Mom packed for me. I stuffed a spoonful into my mouth. As I ate, I glanced around at the little groups of people huddled together in the fields. One strange thing I noticed was that as I got older, less and less people ate in the cafeteria. I assumed it must be one of those "do not do's" that the cool people tend to stay away from. Half the popular kids go to some restaurant during lunch, and the remaining, disappear off to some place..
I bet I look like such a loner, I thought to myself as I scooped up more rice. Eun Byul knew I wasn't much of a people-person. She knew I needed her at this new school and she knew that I'd sulk by myself the entire day if she was not by my side. For me, friend-making was a task that was either a hit or a miss. At some schools I'd have great, understanding friends while others were just backstabbers or annoying pests.
"Stupid!" I muttered as I stabbed a piece of carrot. The only positive event that happened today was my success in finding my way around the school building. Horrible navigational skills ran in the family, but I was the lucky one out of four who inherited the genes of my paternal grandfather, a renowned geologist.
"Hey," I glanced up and saw two boys from my music class first period. What were their names again? Oh yes, that's right. They were Changmin and Yoochun.
I returned a greeting followed by a small smile. Both boys dropped onto the empty space beside me.
"Jaejoong, is it?" asked Changmin.
"Yup. That's me," I replied.
"What’s up?" Yoochun chirped happily.
"The sky?"
Gradually, the three of us engaged in a light conversation with me throwing in a random sarcastic comment every now and then. By the end of the day, we became good friends and even walked home together. Well, technically speaking, we walked to the bus stop. Yoochun's dad's car was waiting at the side of the street while Changmin took the bus. I, the poor boy, had to go home by foot.
The first thing I did when I got home was dump my belongings on the floor and run to the fridge. No matter how much homework I had, food was always number one on my list. Only after I ate to my stomach’s content, did I head upstairs.
Eun Byul was in her room, happily perched upon her huge, fluffy princess bed. Compared to hers, my single mattress was noticeably smaller; which, was often the reason why I ended up in her bed when we were younger. The television was switched on to some kids' channel, a cartoon that I faintly remembered watching in grade four playing on the flat screen. Although she was the older twin, she was still the more childish one.
"Eun Byul, how's your fever?" I reached one hand up to feel her forehead. It was pretty warm, but not as hot as before.
"Better now. Mom's soup really did wonders," Eun Byul said with one arm wrapped around me. "I'll be able to go to school tomorrow. My poor Joongie must have been so lonely today without her awesome older sister to be there and catch him when he trips on air."
"Dare say one more word about my clumsiness and I will make sure you won't be able go to school tomorrow," I threatened playfully.
"You are so scary," Eun Byul retorted drily. "Made any friends today?"
"There were two nice guys from my music class. They're my new friends,"
"I would say something about that statistic, but you will kill me afterwards, so I rather not."
"As if you could make any more than I did," I scoffed. "They'd probably be running away just with one look at your face."
"Don't forget the fact that we are identical twins, dear Joongie. Does that mean you freaked people out with your face today? Is that why you only have two friends?"
I frowned at my sister as she laughed loudly.
"My face is gorgeous and you know it," Getting up from the bed, I went to her desk and plopped down on the plastic orange chair. I opened a thick science book we got today. So far I didn't get any homework but it's never bad to look through the textbook before the next day's lesson.
"I fetched your schedule from the office. You have music class with me as well as math." I said to Eun Byul. She looked at the yellow sheet in my hand.
"How can we be in the same music class? You don't know how to play a string instrument," questioned my sister.
"Had my classes mixed up. So I'll no longer be playing the clarinet, but the violin instead. You better help me with that stupid thing."
The rest of the day concluded with Eun Byul and I constantly nagging at each other. Mom came in before bedtime to feed my sister her medicine, then we were urged to bed promptly after because she said and I quote: “You two darlings have a lovely day of school ahead of you~!”

I woke up early the next morning and ran to the washroom. I was just a second away from the door when I felt someone pull the back of my collar. After steadying myself, I noticed that the washroom door was closed, Eun Byul's singing bouncing off the wall as she showered.
I cursed unhappily. Once she gets in there, she will not come out until fifteen minutes before we have to go, leaving me with not enough time to bathe myself.
When Eun Byul came out, she grinned proudly before heading back to her room. So much for being twins…

The first week of school went by quickly. It was mainly some introductory material that the teachers taught and many students were still busy going to the guidance office to have their schedules changed.
We were in homeroom (music class) one day when the teacher suddenly stood up with a tall boy by his side. He clapped his hands to get our attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, today we have a new student joining us. His name is Jung Yunho and he just arrived from abroad a few days ago. Please give him a welcoming round of applause!"
Eun Byul leaned towards me, whispering quietly in my ear. "He's really hot, isn't he?"
Yes, those legs…
"Yunho, you can sit with the second violins, over..." my teacher scanned the room, "…There, beside Jaejoong. Kim Jaejoong, please raise your hand."
My hand shot up on reflex and Yunho walked over with his things. The second his butt was planted onto the chair, my sister began shamelessly flirting with him. Embarrassed, I slid further down my chair, as my sister leaned forwards to talk some more with the transfer student.
Surprisingly, this Yunho guy was quite okay with the attention he was receiving from Eun Byul. In fact, I think he enjoyed it, judging by the way his eyes sparkled when she laughed. Only when Mr. Ahn called for order in the classroom, did they finally stop talking.
It was actually mid-October however, when Eun Byul spilled her secret to me on our way home.
"Jaejoong-ah," my sister pulled me to the side of a playground and sat me down on a swing. "I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time now..." She paused for dramatic effect. "YunhoandIaredating. Do you think mom will kill me for it?"
"I didn't catch the first part. Kill you for what?" I asked.
"For...dating,"
My eyes nearly popped out of my sockets. "Dating?! Eun Byul, you know mom forbade us to do so! She's going to spazz at you for sure."
"I know, that's why I want you to help me," she replied.
"What do you want me to do?" I have a bad feeling about whatever she's going to say next.
"Tell them about your sexual orientation," Eun Byul stated calmly, like it was normal to ask of that from your brother. "Surely dating would not be as big of a deal compared to you coming out."
I gaped at her smiling face, and then I screamed.
"No fucking way, Kim Eun Byul!"
Her eyes instantly narrowed and a smirk appeared on her visage.
"Do it. Or Dad will find out about that time you cheated on your French test last year. It’s your choice. You know how seriously he takes ethics."
"You wouldn't," I glared back at her."
"Oh, yes I will,"
I pondered over my options. "Then, if you want my help, I have to tell them privately. You can't be there to witness it."
"Do you think I'm stupid, Jaejoong? You obviously wouldn't tell them you're gay if I wasn't there to supervise you," she retorted.
I huffed in annoyance and crossed my arms over my chest. "Fine, then you have to buy me whatever you buy for Yunho. If he gets a new watch, I expect to find one on my bed too."
"Deal."

The two of us planned to drop the bomb during dinner. I was in the middle of scooping myself another serving of bulgogi when Eun Byul nudged my knee to indicate the start of the confession. Both of us put down our chopsticks and looked at our parents.
Seeing that we stopped eating, Mom and Dad looked at us curiously. Wiping my sweaty palms on my sweatpants, I cleared my throat and began talking.
"Well, um, you see, Eun Byul and I have something to notify you of," I said shakily.
"I'm dating, and Jaejoong found out that he is gay," Eun Byul interrupted with her signature bluntness.
Dad's chopsticks dropped on the floor and Mom started choking on her food. I hurriedly brought her a glass of water from the kitchen and she gulped it down in one breath. After regaining their posture, my father gave us both a stern look. Silence surrounded the four of us.
"Ji-Ae, follow me to the study for one moment, please." Dad said to Mom.
Eun Byul and I sat awkwardly amidst the empty dining room. To my complete dismay, not only did she not look apologetic of this mess she got us into, but she continued eating as if nothing happened.
In the study, I heard the muffled talking of mom and dad. At one moment, I heard Dad shout “No!” followed by Mom’s alarmed squeals telling him to “Shut up or the kids will hear!”. I assumed it was the precious vase that was always on Dad’s large oak desk being knocked over the next minute and believed it to be the sound of Dad gasping in agony the minute after. My parents entered the room once more after a long period of hushed whispering.
"Your mother and I have talked it over," announced my father. "Jaejoong, you’ll have to give us some more time to think it over, however, as of now, we will not approve of you bringing any man into the house. Eun Byul, we’ll accept your actions, but if your school work is neglected in any way, I will see that you break up with your boyfriend right away. Is that understood?"
"Yes!" we both replied in unison.
"Good, now get back to dinner. We can't let your Mom’s effort go to waste."
I followed Eun Byul back to her room because she told me she had something important to tell me when we finished eating. I sat on her bed, watching as she pulled out some clothes from her closet.
“JaeJae, I’m going on a date tomorrow,”
“What the fuck? Eun Byul, our parents only agreed to this whole boyfriend thing today and you expect them to accept you going on a date the next morning?!” I exclaimed agitatedly.
“Yup,” she grinned goofily. “And you’re coming with me.”
A/N: I finally squeezed out the first chapter of the story. Plot-bunny from the lovely
