herrow und gudevening, frrriends

this has been a most eventful week in my little world. classes have just finished their secong week, and i'm really into them (good thing!) art history is awesome, i'm taking intro to western art and my professor gives possibly the best lectures ever. ever! he's left off every one thus far with a cliffhanger, and it makes me want to stand up and applaud when he's finished. i am also taking contemporary art after 1945 (sooooo cool! yay modern art!), and my spanish class is with all of the kids on my trip to spain, also cool!

wednesday night corina and i went to the art brut and we are scientists show, which was great. both bands put on excellent shows. i hadn't really listened to art brut before but they were super good. in the name of kwva, i decided to go "backstage" and chat with the bands and see if they might do a favor for me. 3/5 of art brut, a scientist, and a spinto (the spinto band was there too, they sing a bouncy song called "oh mandy") let me take a video of them saying "we love kwva!!", YAY! and hopefully it will go up on the brand new website, whenever that happens. soon? anyway, that was between sets and after the show corina and i slid back there again and talked with keith from we are scientists and eddie from art brut, and they agreed to do a phone interview!! it was sweet. and then keith signed my arm. all of my photos from that are immortalized on the facepage.
so then thursday i did class, and work (note: dealing with hungry people with little to no food let in the cafe is not fun! we totally ran out of all things edible, so weird), then i went to the station, called them, and did the interview!! anthony interviewed the guitarrist from art brut, and i interviewed chris, the bassist from w.a.s. it went so well! we recorded it to play at another time, and i'll let you all know when that is so that you can stream it. because if you didnt, i would be sad. i'll holla when that happens. probably next week, though.
and then! this week has a theme, and the there is radio. i was called in to fill in the one hour, one band show today! so i went in and got shown around the booth and all that jazz. i played manu chao (thanks jessiepants for helping me focus my thoughts) and it was fuuuun. so, i may get more dj training so that i may cover slots when needed. cool!
other thing are happening too, but you will just have to stay tuned. these are very exciting times.

besos!

p.s.
kylie is fostering a buch of cats, one of which is (was?) pregnant, and she may or may not have eaten her kitten. waahhh!
