me, mom, dad, and my brother carl are in the living room.
all watching the news.
me and dad have been eating jello shooters while mom and brother were at church.
mom and brother start discussing the shooting at virginia tech and how that one teacher lost his life. he like blocked the door with his body and i guess he was a holocaust survivor. and i said that it sucks that he survived the holocaust just to get shot by some dumb punk. and then went on to say that it sucks...and that shit happens. he was old. everyone stares at me. i proceed to tell them that my heart is made of ice.
then my mom....

says " amanda, you should probably grab some extra blankets. i think youre gonna find it difficult to sleep. you being so cold and all "
me and my dad bust up laughing. by far the weirdest thing my mom has said. and she didnt even miss a beat.
