I've never had a cavity in my life.

Until, that is, about a week ago, my orthodontist told me I had one. So we scheduled an appointment with my dentist. I go in today. And it turns out, I have not one, but two cavities.

See, here's the thing. I take care of my teeth. I really do. But here's why I had cavities.

I had my braces on for around six years before they were taken off. During this time, food particles had gotten trapped beneath the brackets, causing slow damage to my teeth. It eventually led to some pretty fucked up decalcification. But here's the thing. I didn't know about it. My mother didn't know about it. Nobody had heard a godamned word of it until today.

Now, this decalcification? It's a problem. My orthodontist told me that I had some 'discoloration' on my teeth, which, he said, was common, and that my dentist could easily take care of it. Turns out that shit is decalcification which a) is permanent b) will get worse, if I don't meticulously take care of my teeth and c) will cause my teeth, permanently, to be more cavity prone.

I had my braces off like.. three months ago. My dentist said, there's no way the damage could have been done in that time. It happened while I had my braces on. And second of all, you should know that it's... a pretty visible thing. I constantly had brackets and wires replaced, and yet, I was never told of this problem. Not even when my braces were taken off altogether, when the problem was most CERTAINLY visible. We payed this motherfucker over 20,000, and all he did was complain that I didn't take good care of my braces and start charging us money for every visit, for SIX YEARS, out of which for two, my braces weren't even DOING anything to my mouth since my teeth hadn't grown in properly, and I come out with damage done?

The issue is that, if my orthodontist had been fucking doing his job, he could've told me, "Oh. You should know that there's some damage being done to your teeth here. You should get your braces off so that you don't suffer from permanent damage." That's the very least he could have done for me. ANd now, because of his fucking negligence and incompetence, I have a fucking problem.

If he won't pay for my cavities, and pay to fill in the discoloration, I should most definitely take legal action against this motherfucker.
