FM introduction
Hey, I'm Jacob Black. Most of my friends call me Jake though. I'll answer to either. I really don't see the point of introductions. How much can you truly find out about someone based on what they are willing to reveal at first? Unless you're Cullen and cheating by crawling around in people's heads you're not likely to get a true glimpse at a person.
The fact is we all have secrets. Some are bigger than others, but they are protected by the person who keeps them regardless of how huge or insignificant others may find them. The short story is that I grew up in Forks on the reservation. I have a close group of friends that I hang out with. They're more like brothers than friends, actually. We take care of each other.
We're like brothers because we're a pack. A werewolf pack. Yeah, I know, it sounds weird, but it's not our fault that we're this way. I can't get into all the details without breaking the code, but let's just say my kind are protectors. Unfortunately the one person I'd most like to protect, I can't. She's determined to do something incredibly stupid.
She was my best friend for awhile. I hate speaking in the past tense when it comes to her, but what can I do? She made a choice between him or me. He won, and I'm left counting down the days until she ceases to exist. The rules make a lot of sense when they don't apply to your own life. He's my natural enemy. I'm supposed to hate him regardless if he's destroying the woman I love or not.
Yeah, that's the kicker, I love her. Not even in that well she's my best friend kind of way. I love her, and I know that she loves me too. Just not as much as she loves him. She's obsessed with him, and it's real hard to compete with obsession, you know?
