Bella walked along the beach, her hands in the pockets of her hoodie. She hadn’t felt this empty since Edward left her after the incident with Jasper. She did the leaving this time. She just couldn’t marry him. After a fitful night of sleep, she found herself driving to La Push just to walk by the beach.
“Bella?”
It was him. She felt the tears before she knew she was crying. Then she felt his warm fingers brushing the tears away.
“It’s okay,” he said, pulling her into a tight hug.
And they walked down the beach in silence.

Jake sat on the front porch, holding his newborn daughter in his arms as she slept.
He inhaled the sweet scent of salt air mixing with the pine trees as the wind blew across the land.
He watched Bella splash in the water with their twin sons, her laughter filling the air.
“Daddy, lookie what Aunt Emily gave me!”
He turned to see his oldest daughter running up, holding a red rose in her hands. He smiled as she climbed up in his lap, careful not to disturb her sister.
“It’s beautiful,” he said.
What a wonderful life he had.

Just when Jacob thought his heart couldn’t possibly shatter anymore, it would break all over again when he relived the moment Bella chose Edward.
He hurt so bad.
He was back where he had kept Bella safe and warm in the tent. There was no sign of it now. He could still faintly smell her scent.
More heartbreak.
He heard a rustling and looked up, his breath catching in his throat.
It was Bella.
With every kiss, his heart started to heal.

Bella could hear the roar of the motorcycle as it rumbled up the driveway. She jumped up from the chair and ran outside to see Jacob getting off the bike. The sight of him took her breath away.
He was wearing jeans that fit him in all the right places and a tight black shirt that showed off every muscle on his torso. She bit her lip as he looked her up and down.
He grinned at her and picked her up, spinning her around. “Honey, I’m home,” he said.
Her legs wrapped around his waist and she traced a finger down his chest. “Finally.”

“Mmm…you’re so strong…” Bella said.
Jacob was bench pressing an unknown amount of weights. He was covered in a layer of sweat and seeing his muscles flex as he lifted the weights made Bella’s blood run hot.
She walked over to the bench and straddled her man, resting her hands lightly on his stomach. He faltered slightly, but kept lifting the weights. “Faster, Jake,” she whispered. He was losing concentration and she knew it. “I like it when you go fast.”
CLANG. Jake sat up and unbuttoned Bella’s jeans, grinning. “Oh, I’ll show you fast.”
