Things Remembered
He remembers soft skin, pretty hair, and deep dark eyes from the first night she came to him.

She remembers everything.

She remembers how she’d came to him begging (she also remembers how little convincing he’d needed), she remembers how it felt for the moments of eutrophic joy she’d felt, she remembers the shame that replaced it far too quickly, she remembers the sweet nothings he’d whispered to her for the small hours, she remembers how much she’d felt, she remembers how much it made her heart ache bittersweet beats.

She’d seen him the day before on First Beach and something over took her. She needed him. She needed him to be sane.

It was new to her, needed someone for her instead of being the one in who was needed. She liked it in her own bittersweet way, wanting someone who didn’t depend on her.

That night she dreamt of him, and the next.

She woke in a fluster overcome with the need to be near him. The drive to La Push was horrible; she wasn’t able to focus on the car, thinking of nothing but him. Of silky hair, russet skin, ebony eyes, and the way he looks at her, liked he pick up the world and move it just for her.

There been guilt too, beyond the need, she knew she was taking advantage of him of his obvious adoration of her. But she was too deep in to stop herself.

The look of utter shock on his face as she stood below his bedroom window.

“Make me feel again Jake” she'd said, not want to think about what was going to happen in the after.

He told her to meet him out in the garage. She had obeyed in an insent, not doubting for a moment that he’d follow right behind her without a thought.

“Bells, what are you doing out here? Its late you should be home. I mean, Charlie told me you weren’t sleeping well lately, something about nightmares. But it’s two in the morning” he’d rambled on as she became impatient.

She had kissed him first, no doubt shocking the poor boy. He'd pulled away at first but she just pulled him back unrelenting.

“Please Jake, help me feel.” She knew she was sinking low but she needed him like she needed air at the moment. She didn’t know how long she'd feel this way and he didn’t ask. He just felt.

And for once he didn’t need to feel for her, she felt all on her own, for a moment she was okay.

She'd been numb after unable to think past her unrelenting shame, but he’d coaxed her into his arms and she wept until she didn’t feel the pain anymore, then she slept and he didn’t let go of her through the night in the tiny back seat of his car, he just held her through their pain.
