I dunno if it's FUN AND EXCITING but I've thought fic exchanges were always fun... (as long as everyone follows though and doesn't punk out)

We have an awesome monthly drabble prompt, but what about challenges for people who like to write one-shots. We could do writing challenges like, five things or gender reversal roles, or IDK...

these aren't very FUN AND EXCITING :/

What do you mean? You're talking Jacob/Bella and you're talking fanfic. These things combined are very FUN AND EXCITING.

I'm trying to think how the one-shot prompts would work. MAYBE we could combine this idea with someone else's ideas for more graphics-related things. Maybe do a thing where people make graphics and then writers write one-shots for them? Or were you thinking of something more long-term like a monthly prompt?

I'm always down for a fic exchange. :)

I really like the idea about combining them with graphics! Definitely not a monthly thing, just something once in a while.

I like the idea of combining the graphics with fics, you could also do a thing where writers post one-shots and then people make graphics for the fics - not nessecarily banners, but graphics inpired by the fic.

okay, so I've been thinking about this fic exchange (because that's what I do) and I was thinking that if we do indeed have one, maybe we could set it up differently than the ones that have run at SoB and here previously. Like having more detailed requests than just three wants/don't want to see, and allowing all the participants to choose the prompt they want, while keeping it anonymous.

I only say this because I've always found it easier to write for someone when there's more structure to what they want in a fic. And I know it's a different fandom, but both Draco/Ginny Fic Exchange and the Draco/Hermione Fic Exchange have great detailed sign-up/request stuff that are awesome examples of what I'm poorly trying to convey here.

I don't know, they're just silly suggestions. Feel more than free to ignore them entirely :)

I really like the idea of having a more specific prompt. And I like the idea of the person running it not having to match people up based on their likes/dislikes.

Will definitely take this into consideration!
