CRAP
I am FREAKING OUT-LIKE MEGA
SO I recently (Thursday) had the opportunity to meet and talk to, very spontaneously, this woman who is head of the Museum's Restoration lab, and is also world famous for here skillz.
She said to send her a "background" of myself and they would see about getting me lab space for an independent study next semester in her lab. This is a BIG DEAL.
For those of you who don't know, this is what I've been thinking I might want to do with my life, Art/artifact restoration (aka conservation). This requires a LOT to become qualified, the most immediate hurdle of which is the two years of chemistry, including one of organic chemistry. (cue scary noises).
So this opportunity to work in her lab, a one time only kind of deal as she is going away next year, is a BIG DEAL. Which means this background is a ***BIG DEAL***.
And I am completely paralyzed. HOW do I write it?? I have a draft which is informal, and funny, so if she likes that she'd probably like me. On the other hand, if she thinks informality is a BAD THING, I could blow my chances.
The problem is that I look much, much better in the informal. My life and accomplishments will look badly in a bullet point format.
