Happy New Year! How's 2012 treating you all so far?

I will post my resolutions (both past and new) in a few days, because my mum's visiting, and I won't have time for a detailed post until later. In the meantime, have a poll!

b. I'm so glad you asked, because I love this pairing, and I haven't thought about them in a while. So, like for Myka/HG, I have multiple head!canons for this pairing, but I'll just share one.

Hermione has always noticed Fleur; it's pretty difficult not to, seeing as how Fleur was the Beauxbatons Champion back in her fourth year. But it wasn't until she went on to work in the Ministry of Magic that she reconnected with Fleur. Or at least, got to know her better - not just as that girl from Beauxbatons that all the boys fawned over or as Bill's wife - but as a person who she actually liked and got along with. (And she might even be having ~inappropriate feelings~ for her). Fleur has always wondered why Hermione disliked her, but chalked it up to her being a Veela (not many girls like Veelas, after all, given their effect on most guys). And then they started working together a few years later, and before she knows it, they're good friends. She knows she has less than platonic feelings towards Hermione, but she

b. omg, YES to all of this. I've always found it interesting how fandom manages to make Fleur(/Hermione) really complex even though we don't really get much canon information.

d. I JUST REALLY LIKE HER FACE, OK? I was gonna ask Melanie/Marion for the meme as well BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO GET GREEDY.

b. I find that interesting too. And all the backstory that fandom comes up with for Fleur's Veela heritage fascinates me. I find some of it over-the-top, to be honest, but it always makes for a good love story... Do you have any Fleur/Hermione recs? I mean, I'll be heading to your Delicious bookmarks after this, but just thought I'd ask anyway.

d. OMG ME TOO. I HAVE ONLY SEEN ONE OF HER MOVIES BUT I PRETTY MUCH THINK SHE IS THE PRETTIEST THING EVER. Also, I would do Melanie/Marion, but I don't actually know much about the actresses' relationships (if they're friends at all). But have this anyway:

Melanie met Marion for the first time at a film festival (probably Cannes), and over the course of a few more film festivals and award shows (during which they sat near each other), they got to know each other a little better. And then they're both cast in Dikkenek, and it all sort of starts from there.
