SPOILERS FOR MERLIN SEASON 3 FINALE UNDER THE CUT.

I am still recovering from the season finale (really only where it concerns our lovely incestuous sisters), but:

Katie McGrath hasn't toned down the evil smirks. I'm somewhat disappointed; it was a bit too obvious for my tastes.

With that said -

OHMYGOD, DAMN, MORGANA.

Her screams were chilling, and though towards the end I was sorta wondering what exactly she was yelling (it sounded like she was saying something specifically), it was impressive to watch.

(She can scream but she can't do the subtle? Sad day).

I like the parallels to the season two finale, though this time obviously it was Morgana cradling Morgause, and not the other way around.

I also like that it was ultimately Morgana's grief and desperation that finally showed us the full extent of her powers. We've never before seen how powerful Morgana can be; we've seen plenty of Merlin's magic, and we know that Morgause is wicked awesome with her magical powers, but after Morgana set fire to her bedcovers that one time seasons and seasons ago, I can't remember really seeing her use her powers - probably because we were shown she mainly had prophetic dreams.

And yeah, she's obviously not in control of her powers, given how she took that entire room down and managed to make them both disappear as well (the former was unintentional to an extent, while the latter was probably ... a conscious decision). ANYWAY, I WAS VERY IMPRESSED, OKAY?

Also, the surprise on Gaius and Merlin's faces when Morgana called Morgause her sister... I don't really know why, but I loved that scene a lot.

I also liked how they gave Morgana a chance to explain herself when she told Uther why she hated him so much. I really think that the show focuses too much on Morgana = EVIL SO EVERYONE SHOULD HATE HER, as opposed to Morgana = Wants Uther Dead Because of What She's Had to Go Through As a Result of Everything He's Done. So this was a nice brief break.

I found myself a bit disappointed at her trigger!happy (death-sentence!happy?) ways, though. I would've expected her (or Morgause, at the very least - come on!) to be more sneaky about trying to win the knights over, as opposed to resorting to brutality.

I like Arthur. Though the round table moment was a bit 'meh' for me.

I'm glad Gaius finally used his powers! Even if it was to harm Morgause... Haha...

Merlin, oh Merlin. I never know whether to be annoyed at him or feel sorry for him, but he's definitely saved Arthur countless times without him knowing it. I like that Lancelot acknowledged his efforts, and that Gaius told him good job at the end.

Though I'm not gonna lie: I was mainly invested in the Morgana/Morgause of this episode.

I'm really tempted to do a picspam, especially of Morgana and Morgause, so look for that soon!

And feel free to flail/squee/air your grievances of this episode here! :) I'd love to discuss.
