LOST GIRL 1x08 SPOILERS ABOUND UNDER THE CUT.
Bo/Dyson - They actually showed some skin this time! Correct me if my memory is faulty, but their previous sex scenes haven't looked like this one. Anyway, I'm used to them being the show's OTP, and the scene was pretty hot, so I don't mind one bit... I did LOL a little bit inside at Dyson's angst when he first answered the door though. Bo is right - he's like a girl when it comes to stuff like this! I also hate his little hints of Lauren being untrustworthy... I just really do not like him bashing my girl Dr. Hot Pants like that.
Bo/Lauren - UNGHHHHH I CANNOT EVEN.
First, we have Lauren being sort of but not really subtly jealous over Dyson - she already knew Bo and Dyson had a thing going on, and clearly just needed Bo to confirm it. (Also, Bo basically touching Lauren's boob while "looking at the necklace" definitely was amusing). Plus, the "road less-traveled"? ROFL. Then later on, we have Lauren totally hooking Bo up for a short audience with the Ash and worrying over her - obviously she doesn't want her bb to be killed by the dude for her ~insolence. Just goes to show you how well she knows her, haha!
And then... and then, we find out that Lauren is a TRAITOR! Which is to be expected, but you know, the way the conversation went, I have doubts that any of this was premeditated on Lauren's part. She clearly thought that her helping Bo was a secret, something the Ash wouldn't know about - but he knew about it and called her out on it, then told her to use her ~connections with Bo to stall her. I still stand by my belief that Lauren has ~genuine feelings~ for Bo, because she's ~OBVIOUSLY attracted to Bo, and she didn't have to help Bo out in the beginning - yet she did anyway, and continued doing so... all the while telling Bo to keep quiet about it so the Ash wouldn't find out. The fact that she tried to hide it from the Ash further cements the fact that she wasn't in it to use Bo, at least not in the beginning. (Did you see the eyeroll she gave when the Ash told her to use Bo?) In fact, she only really starts using Bo from this moment on, when the Ash tells her to.
Then Bo hinting at wanting a fam bam with Lauren... And ohmygod, the Bo/Lauren sex!scene - I love how it contrasted that of Bo/Dyson, because they were so sweet and tender with each other. ("Nobody owns you" - just kill me now, OTP). And part of that is probably because Bo's afraid of hurting Lauren, but still. It was so, so sweet, and the only thing that ruined it for me was knowing that Lauren was doing this per her orders. Of course, she's been wanting to kiss Bo for a while (and backtracking a bit: how d'awww-worthy was the "I trust you"? Lauren said it so matter-of-factly...). And the waking up, and how Bo kissed her comfortingly - you guys, I don't even know how to explain it. I say that Bo & Dyson are the show's OTP, and I still think that, but SERIOUSLY. These two clearly have ~feelings for each other.
OMG, Lauren not being able to lie made me love her even more. Seriously, this woman can do no wrong in my eyes. She's such a terrible liar, and she's not really good for anything but science, but I LOVE HER SO FUCKING MUCH. You know most characters on TV shows would've been able to come up with some half-hearted lie, if not lie their way through it, so the fact she couldn't lie because she sucks at it is sort of endearing. I hate that Bo had to find out this way... I like that she's a succubus, and you would think she'd be all SEX! NOW!, but this is probably the first time she's showed any sort of caring towards Lauren that I believed (I never really got the impression that she genuinely liked Lauren before this). And actually, Lauren lost some points for seeming like she cared about nothing except distracting Bo and carrying out the Ash's orders. IT IS JUST A COPING MECHANISM FOR HURTING HER BB, OKAY? I think Lauren has issues sharing her ~feelings. (IT'S WHAT I'LL KEEP TELLING MYSELF TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE AIRS). Because I don't buy that she doesn't care about Bo one bit. I think it just so happened that the Ash's orders coincided with her desire to help protect Bo.
Zing! on Bo's "dog collar" comment - I love my bb Lauren, but she probably deserved that a little bit. Poor Bo is being used all around - if she reacted this way to Lauren, can you imagine what will happen when she finds out about whatever Dyson's hiding from her?
Now cut to the bar scene where Lauren runs to Dyson for help. I get that Lauren is no match for the freaky control dude, but sometimes I wish she would just rush in and rescue Bo. I'm holding out hope for the day that happens... it has to happen eventually, right?
In other news, Bo was looking especially delicious this episode. I think this was the first time I was like whoa, she's hot all season. Trufax.
Also: What is up with Trick and Lou? (That's the woman's name, right?)
This was definitely the best episode so far, aside from the continuity issues - though understandable, I suppose, since it was a midseason pickup pilot or something like that (some of the continuity errors could be explained away - Lauren wanting to hear from Bo herself that Bo was doing the nasty with Dyson - but some of which could not - Bo's sudden feelings for Lauren, which while I know they were sort of trying to build up to, I didn't actually buy until this episode... probably because they were too busy trying to have Lauren be something Bo can settle for instead of Dyson)... and I really hope the rest of the season measures up or surpasses this.
