Hi all! I've definitely been neglecting LJ, and that's mainly because classes are sucking the life out of me. Whenever I have a spare moment, I'm usually staring blankly at my desktop screen while Hulu is playing the latest Bones, or Castle, or one of the numerous shows I watch.
ANYWAY. I have very brief points I would like to discuss on various shows I've seen lately, so. (Some of these might be old). Just click, and remember that there are likely to be spoilers for the latest episode (so spoilers up to this week).
Caprica
So, who else ships Amanda Greystone/Clarice Willow? I was pretty much already shipping them the first half of the season (these midseason breaks are so odd), but I feel like with the (mid)season premiere, everything got even more slashy. It's too bad the most recent episode has Amanda wanting to off Clarice... I was really enjoying their non-tension-strained relationship. *sigh*
Castle
I LOVE BECKETT'S HAIR. A major improvement over first season.
Fringe
Definitely a fan of Alt!Livia's universe. I love those episodes a lot, and so far have found them more interesting than Olivia's original universe. (I haven't seen last night's episode, though). I am very impressed with Anna Torv's acting - there is definitely a difference between Alt!livia and Olivia, and it's the little things she adds to each character that make them stand out from each other.
Glee
We all already knew this, but: BRITTANY/SANTANA FTW!!!!!!! I love that you could tell Brittany was not feeling it when Santana was all like "I WANT TO SING WITH BOYS," and how you could tell that Santana was jealous of Brittany later on. Also, why do I feel like this Sam kid is going to be Kurt's boyfriend? Not that I mind! He's sort of cute. The most recent ep was definitely the best out of the entire season - I really did not like the episodes that came before it, and in my opinion, this was the best episode since the first half of last season.
Merlin
Those of you who follow me on Twitter may have seen my posts of displeasure regarding Merlin. I know that this show isn't meant to be deep, and I've long since given up on the writing/plot to even be decent, but... I was just so disappointed with how they handled Morgana's arc. Actually, what arc? She went from friend to foe in two seconds, and I get that a year is supposed to have passed, but... the fact that she feels absolutely nothing for Arthur or Gwen (after they had been so close in series 1) seems implausible to me.
And I also don't like that Merlin is basically meddling and trying to have things turn out the way he thinks they should - he's not god, and the sooner he learns that, the better it will be for everyone around him. Don't get me wrong; I love Merlin, and I love Arthur, and I love Merlin with Arthur.
I just want them to give more explanation for Morgana's behavior. I hate that we're expected to believe she's completely evil and has no sympathy for anyone. I do like the slash that bursts onscreen when Katie McGrath & Emilia Fox are in a scene, though.
Nikita
I'm glad I gave this show a shot. It's actually pretty decent. Not to mention, of course, the fact that Maggie Q is hot, as is Lyndsy Fonseca. I can't stand Shane West's voice, though - it's this weird, gravelly thing, and I know it's just a voice and there's nothing he can do about it, but it gets on my nerves. I sort of want to ship Nikita/Alex, but they haven't really interacted that much, unless you count the secret IMs they send to each other from time to time.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on any of these, or anything else you may be watching!
