Sometimes you're the dog, sometimes you're the hydrant...

...and I'm coming to you live and loud from Hydrantville, Population: Me.

That anatomy test turned out pretty much as I expected, and that ain't good. I did alright on the written, but the lab abso-freakin'-lutely destroyed me. We're talking Old-Testament level devestation.

The good news is that there's opportunity for extra cred in a couple weeks, w/more to come down the line. The so-so news is that we can drop one lab practical along the way, and if I do any worse than this one later on then I've got some serious problems. I hate having to use my trump card right out of the gate, but I really couldn't fit any more information into my pathetic little brain so what's done is done.

Things continue to feel great about the new gig at The Joe. I had an orientation session w/one of the managers yesterday in lieu of a proper shift, and it was painful. Lots of paperwork, a tour of the entire facility that seemed utterly pointless considering how much information there was and how little my orientation-mate and I retained, some pointless video watching and a pointless entrance test. Notice the theme? Nonetheless, I'm still impressed w/the differences between it and The Circus. Now I need you all to pray that I get stuck in triage on Sunday so I'll have access to the Super Bowl while I'm working. Sucks being the new guy.

Like Megan said, I've been exposed to Naruto, and I really, really like it. The Cup Ramen speech is the single funniest thing I've ever seen in all my years of watching animation, and I have an insane amount of affection for the title character, which helps balance out the insane amount of contempt I have for his rival/teammate Sasuke. Gaki tells me that I'll come to appreciate Sasuke more when I learn about his tragic background, so I'm trying to keep an open mind about him. But I like the complexity of the characters and the premise is fun, interesting and original and the theme song is pretty awesome, in an Engrish sorta way.

...and so help me, I vow to one day recreate Naruto's pose for his official ninja registry photo:
