Who-friggidy-hoo...

The computer, to borrow a phrase from Oakland Raiders' owner Al Davis, "went down and went down hahd." (Dude doesn't know how to pronounce his Rs.)

Don't know what's wrong w/it, don't know when it'll be fixed, so I'm sitting in the spartan library at that fine bastion of higher education Moorpark College wasting time until class begins. Figured since my LJ opportunities might be limited for at least a few days, I better throw something up here about the election.

BEGIN RANT

It sucked.

END RANT

Sorry, kids, but Bush has been way too laid back about getting us involved in a military mess of epic proportions that has so far claimed over 1,000 American lives and has no end in sight. Dude didn't go in w/a plan, and he certainly doesn't have one to get us out. Not to mention that there are way too many jobs migrating to the mean streets of Calcutta for my liking. A fat lot of good education will do for you when you already have an MBA and your job was recently shipped to a different continent. And don't even get me started on oil prices...

Fear not, kids, being the nonpartisan that I am, I've got plenty of venom to spit at the Democrats. More than half the country was ready to toss Bush outta the Oval Office, and all the left had to do was put forth someone who didn't offend most of that majority to take over. So, the geniuses find a liberal from the most liberal part of the country outside of New York and California, then have him run as a moderate "New Democrat", in essence pissing off the far left who put him there in the first place and not convincing the moderates at all that they were trying to appeal to. Now there's a winning game plan. Bush is just a moron, but the Democrats are utterly freakin' incompetent and they should know better after completely pissing away all of the momentum Clinton had built up through the '90s.

I'm already counting the moments until '08, and I think my savior is actually going to come from the GOP. Maybe John McCain, who I liked for his take-no-crap attitude and nonpartisan criticisms of Bush's bumblings until he suddenly had that change of heart a few months back and declared G.W. the greatest thing since the egg-white omelette. Nonetheless, he was doing what he had to do to line himself up for a shot in '08, and I think he'd be good for the country. I'm even harboring a fantasy that Schwarzenegger, who also posseses quite a bit of take-no-crap/nonpartisan attitude and is quite obviously the darling of the Republican party, will muster up the support he needs to get the Constitutional amendment that would allow him to run. W/the right wing very clearly calling the shots in this country, it doesn't seem so far-fetched.

What the country really needs, however, is another Clinton-like figure regardless of the person's politics. Clinton won two landslides and was adored by the all but the ultraconservative in this country. Whether you dig him or not, you have to admit that he created cohesiveness the likes of which we haven't seen since Bush took office. We now have this ugly, gnarly rift that's pretty much divided our country right down the middle for the past four years and it's creating a mess in a country that was founded on a "United We Stand" ideal. Something's gotta bring the two sides back together again, and regardless of the results of last night's election it was clear that it wasn't gonna happen this year.

Oh yeah; Though I respect everyone's right to vote how they deem appropriate, if you voted for stem-cell research you're a booger-eating moron and shut up.

OK, I feel a little better now, thanks. In better news, I'm going to see my sweetie animegan tonight, which I likely would've been doing regardless of the date, but today also marks a month since we started dating. Yes, Virginia, Eric's actually keeping track of these things now. I'm as freaked out as the rest of you are.

Megan will be in town for the weekend, and she and all my favorite people will be there Friday night to check out "The Incredibles" and absorb the superhero awesomeness from the fine folks at Pixar.

BTW, kids, since I'm the pointman on this, what time are we looking at going? I was thinking a later showing down at the Promenade might be ideal since there will be fewer kids running up and down the aisles like we get at Winnetka, but the floor's open so speak on it. I'm also scoring tix for Megan, coyoteiswise, and fayevalentine00, so anyone else who wants passes ahead of time needs to speak on that or forever shut the Hell up.

Sunday also brings about Peak Praise at church, which is always one of the highlights of my month. For those not in the know, a handful of the endless supply of smokin' musicians that attend my church lead everyone in a whole slew of praise music. It's the kind of thing you leave feeling phenomenal, and knowing Megan's love for God and music, I'm very hyped that she'll be there for it. I'm also fiercly proud of my church, and I kinda dig showing it off.

Alright, time for me to go learn something. Be good, you silly little freaks.
